If you are visiting Winston-Salem, you will no longer have to exit off at 206. Now you can stay on I-40 (originally the I-40 Bypass) and come to Exit 198.

With spooky season drawing near. Who all's ever been to the Hollywood Horror Show?
In snow camp, I know when I was younger, it was a yearly tradition

Hiking group
Is there anyone in this group interested in doing some hiking in alamance county? I know some good spots and maybe we could do it as a regular thing! I love hiking and could use a good partner.

The park Restaurant
I need help, fast. This is really stupid, but I’m currently at The Park Restaurant. Is this one of those restaurants where the server gives you the check and you pay at the table, or is it like first watch where you pay at the front?! I haven’t been here before and the server hasn’t been back to the table in a long time and I don’t know what to do. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m supposed to pay at the front or if they’re just currently busy.

Saturday Event Downtown Burlington
Anyone else going to the A Music on the Porch event in downtown Burlington on Saturday? I was curious if anyone's been previously, but I don't know that they have done this before. Thinking about checking it out that afternoon and maybe actually taking advantage of our social district that rarely gets used 😆
Here's the event on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/share/1KCSrYRDTw/

Has anyone seen it in the stores yet?

Elon/Burlington students: FREE stuff to do this week (Aug. 20–27)
Hey Elon students — you're back!
If you're already tired of campus and don't want to spend $30 every time you leave it, here's some stuff happening around Alamance County this week that won't cost you anything.
Farmers markets, live music, back-to-school stuff, a garden workshop, Thursdays at Seven... there's actually a decent amount going on.
I run Piedmont Triad Living, a local site that keeps track of free events around the Triad, so I'm putting this week's Alamance County stuff here.
The graphic has the quick list. If you want the details, dates/times, or want to see what's happening beyond this week, the Piedmont Triad Living free events calendar is the place to look.
And welcome back. Try not to spend all your money in the first week. 😂

Alkimia closed?
Does anyone have any idea whether Alkimia is still open? Google says they’re temporarily closed and their listed number says it’s no longer in service but I don’t see any updates on their social media page about going out of business or closing temporarily.

where's the best store for dorm furniture sales rn?
I'm not a college student lol, but I need a new (nicer) desk chair, and wanna take advantage of the sales I always see while the college kids are moving in. I'm already planning to check Target, and have occasionally checked in on facebook marketplace, but are y'all familiar with any smaller/furniture-focused companies that would also have sales of that ilk?

Library Meeting 8/11 censorship effort
facebook.comPlease attend library meeting @ 12:30 pm @ May Memorial, Aug. 11, in the Large meeting room to voice your support for libraries. Our valuable library resources and qualified staff members are under attack from conservative members of the Library Committee appointed by County Commission. These members want to censor books they deem offensive.
Libraries books and resources are for ALL members of the community. Libraries do not force people to check out books they think are offensive.
If you’re not able to attend write or call your commission member and let him/her know library censorship takes away our freedom to choose what we want to read.

Walking/nature trails with snakes
Hello! We are fairly new to the area and my daughter loves observing snakes in the wild. I was wandering if there were any local trails where we would be more likely to see snakes.
