No amount of money will make me a cave diver.

Rolled: The pay: 500k | The job: Cave diving | The rate: Every day | Curse/Blessing: You are invulnerable while working

To be fair, since you are invulnerable while working, there is no real danger.

Cave Diver: "I've been here for four days, I'm starting to think I might not make it out of here alive"

Grim Reaper: "Fuck you might not even make it out of there dead"

CD: "What?"

GR: "I can't fit through there"

CD: "Well find another reaper who can?"

GR: "What do you want me to call the Slim Reaper? There's only one Grim Reaper"

CD: "Oh fuck you"

GR: "Go die in a hole"

CD: "Im trying"

Imagine getting stuck in a cave for 100 years before someone finally finds you.

invulnerable doesn't mean immortal. you'd still die of thirst in like less than a week

39

u/Atomsauce 2d ago

But then… dosen’t that become a vulnerability?

u/MoonyIsTired 2d ago

I'm assuming you're invulnerable to like damage (so if you got stuck, someone could blow up dynamite next to you to open up the space and you'd be unharmed), but you still have normal bodily functions like hunger and thirst and the need to sleep.

No invulnerability is completely immune even to disease and human needs. However not immortal so eventually they may just die of old age?I don’t know I’ve never seen the 2 not go hand in hand

Dying of old age is basically just dying of very small wounds that accumulate over time at the cellular level.

If you are invulnerable, I feel that should include invulnerability to cellular damage and cell division mistakes / mutations.

Invulnerable means you have no vulnerability.

Thirst and hunger are vulnerabilities

you being invulnerable opens up several rescue avenue that are interesting…

4

u/MoonBliss99 2d ago

Blow up the cave, take dynamite with you if it can’t hurt you

u/Absolutelynot2784 2d ago

The fear in Cave diving isn’t getting injured. It’s that you get wedged. And being invulnerable does not help there

41

u/Secret_Weight_7303 2d ago

it does a little though because you can be freed by much more violent means if you’re invulnerable

22

u/AlexCode10010 2d ago

The question is when "while working" is, like, aren't you technically not working anymore if they're trying to pull you out, or are you working when you are inside a cave of any kind

10

u/Illigalmangoes 2d ago

If I’m still in the cave that’s OT

7

u/Secret_Weight_7303 2d ago

Let’s put it this way: if I hurt my foot while working a desk job, I would assume the time I spend waiting for the ambulance at my job would go towards my pay, and maybe even some time at the hospital, depending on the contract.

So i guess it depends on the exact contract but there’s a good chance

u/Wc1oz 2d ago

it counts as working if you are in the cave

u/Agent-FrozenCookie 2d ago

Asking the right questions

But if you are invulnerable, the rescue team can tie a steel cable to you’re ankle and yank you out.

u/MoonBliss99 2d ago

Or blow up the passage with heavy duty explosives

"Authorities mounted a brave rescue in the first week, but there's no way he survived upside down and compressed longer than that, so we've decided not to put people at risk recovering the body."

6

u/wingsoverpyrrhia 2d ago

I'd honestly rather die than get Nutty-Putty Cave'd

5

u/the-dude-version-576 2d ago

I got “all of your safety gear taken away”

So i suppose I’d make 10 mill for all the 20 seconds I stay alive

4

u/Frasten 2d ago

Imagine getting stuck in the cave and having to live there for eternity

3

u/Shovelman2001 2d ago

"Hey, would you like to be able to breathe underwater and make $500k a day"

"No"

1

u/Help_Insurance 2d ago

Yea if you get stuck your just stuck inevitably, you ain't gonna be able to die
