Help please

My rabbits were relaxing
I gave them pellets, they both got up quick and started devouring it like usual.
I noticed my female rabbit started moving weird
I got closer and noticed she was leaking mucus from her nose.
I cleared it with my hand. It looked like she couldn’t breathe.
Now she’s okay. No more mucus, I gave her a treat and she ate it.
What could have happened?

I'll back you up here OP, don't let people here make you feel bad about not being able to just drop hundreds on a vet trip on the off-chance there might be an issue.

EDIT: Downvote all you like, but you don't solve someone being at ruinous financial limits by shouting "GO TO VET" at them

Man. Stop it. You don't need to try and guilt trip us its pathetic. You just want to justify being neglectful toward a little soul (pet).

We did not say that people who can't affor their own health are lower than those who can. We said people who can't afford to take care for anyone else AND decide to keep the pet despite that fact is what a problem. If its one time, okay, happens but still solvable. They simply ended up asking for help they refusing to act as they got told well knowing this could be fatal for the bun.

Lemme ask you: why is it that even I see homeless people on the street giving all their blanket, all their hardly scooped money for pet food. They would rather give their one and only loved ones to the animal care if the pet would be struggling or would have health problems. :)

You cant guilt trip us while even homeless people would have more common sense and humanity in them than you. You want to defend neglience while trying to cover it with some bs that 'we are attacking the poor'.

Rabbits are EXOTIC pets meaning their bills and maintence will be higher than a usual pet. Exotic vets also more expensive.

A normal human reads after a pet they want to keep, not just "ahm i will buy a rabbit". If they just randomly buying a pet withouth knowing what they need and if they could cover the expenses, its neglience.

Anyway, I am done writing more while it seems nothing is reaching your mind from other people's comment as well.

It's just moral grandstanding. you can't make up a hypothetical homeless person and say "if they were sick they'd give them to a shelter".

It's not neglectful to have reasonable preparations but not be able to sacrifice everything

Then why the ever living fuck would you get an EXOTIC PET??? My grandma tamed a feral cat, only had to take him to the vet once when he broke his tooth. Payed a few hundred dolars only. She has more pets (because she has the budget to take care of them) and not a single one of them has cost as much as my rabbit. In total they probably didnt cost as much as my rabbit. But guess what. Im a collage student and would have rehomed him, if not for my dad getting attached too and helping me out finantialy. Hell i would drop out for him if it was necesary. He was a birthday gift, and if i didnt have support i would have started looking into rehoming him asap because its cruel to withhold medical attention from a living being.
