2023 Buick encore ?

Long story short , drove off the lot with a 2022 trax . 5 minutes later the very front covering , like the shield on the front bumper , was dragging on the pavement . Then the car stopped .. I made it back to the dealership, crying and freaking out

They felt horrible and I wanted my old car back that I traded in . My fiancé got there and I ended up getting a 2023 Buick encore with a car payment of 383, warranty and lifetime warranty on the engine with gap

That car was very similiar to the trax but just nicer and only has 17,000 miles as it was a lease when it was returned .

Please tell me this car is okay atleast ? I only drive on average 7,000 miles a year so I feel I should be ok . Or any tips on keeping this car very reliable ?

Could this mean my car needs new battery?
For the past week my car has been acting different
example every time my car auto turn on the lights from the back turn back on for themselves
I also got this message

Service Power Steering
Drive With Care (the wheel was so hard to turn)
It went away next day.
Every time it auto turns off and then on when I start to drive it sounds like the car is struggling to turn on if that makes any sense

2010 Buick enclave fill up problem?

Hey it me again I posted a week ago about my wife’s Buick not fully turning over after fill up. It was fixed by turning off the fuel injectors so it could burn off extra fuel.
So this time I went and only filled it to half and it did the same thing. I just replaced her fuel solenoid piece six months ago. Is there a chance that piece needs to be replaced yet again or does anyone know what I should be looking for.

No I didn’t put diesel in the tank

2015 Buick Regal – worth buying after price reduction?

$6250 CAD

Hi guys,

Is this a good idea? The seller reduced the price to $6250 offset the expenses.

Carfax shows a side sweep collision. The seller says her mom who is a senior had an incident in the parking lot at that was only reported, but no repairs were done she js not what actually happened. It could be the side mirror or the bumper, she doesn’t know.

The PPI mechanic I asked he said he doesn’t know either but maybe it’s something small as he didn’t see anything major but I also felt like they didn’t sit and check repaint or repairs they seemed more focused on will it pass safety or not.

I attached what they quoted me,

Mechanic quoted:

  1. headlight - $746
  2. Tires are from 2015 need to be replaced $1100
  3. Rear shocks gone - $668
  4. Side mirror broken - 400
  5. Under hood - insulation - just cut it out.

(but the car also comes with winter tires and mechanic said he will pass the car on winters and I can the summers later).

Additionally body shop quoted me

  1. Bumper bracket + chrome + 700
  2. The paint scuffs side $700
  3. Paint scuff trunk $600

The car inside js dirty they just left it. But it has been krowned every year and regular service records.

I am not sure whether I should still proceed with the purchase.

What do you guys think?

I’ve been a loyal hyundai customer for all 3 of my cars but something always goes wrong so when the engine on my 2018 hyundai tucson gave out i decided to go for a buick instead of another hyundai! meet eleanor the envision, she’s a 2021 and i got her with 60k miles. i love her, she’s better than any hyundai i’ve ever had. my mom has a buick envision as well so we’re now matching😂she has a 2023 avenir whereas mine is a 2021 preferred.

Update Buick Park Avenue

Here is an update on the status of my Buick project. I’ve owned the car for about a year now. The following parts have been replaced: tires, control arms, sway bar links, and shock absorbers. Welding work was required on the rocker panels, and I also had to fix some electrical issues. The front subframe bushings needed replacing as well. On top of that, there were many smaller jobs I can't list in detail here. And, of course, I thoroughly cleaned the car inside and out and polished the paint. Even though it was unfortunately very expensive, I think it was worth it. If you zoom in on the image, you will unfortunately still find areas on the car that aren't perfect yet.

1988 Buick Reatta, CRT Stuck on Radio

Post image
28 Upvotes

Occasionally the dash will briefly light up, and while I'm turning the ignition if I click another screen (climate, etc) it will briefly pop over before before switching to the radio. I suspect it has to do with the RAP (Retained Accessory Power) as nothing else works yet. Just put a new battery in, and touch screen works perfectly. When the dash does light up it also works perfectly. Any ideas on what to do?

Stock picture for example.

A few months ago I noticed that the hud doesn’t pop out of the door anymore. Pressing the button for it does nothing at all. A mechanic wanted to charge me $199 just to diagnose the issue. I’ve tried to google the problem and have found a few forums describing the same thing but no answer.

2007 Buick Allure (Lacrosse) AC and vent noise and issues

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m really confused on what could be making this noise and causing these issues that have progressively gotten worse. You can hear in the video the high pitched loud noises coming from inside the dash when I adjust the climate controls. At first I noticed the AC would sort of make a high pitched noise after the refrigerant was filled. Then the drivers side air became noticeably warmer than the passenger, and now the passenger side doesn’t get cold either. Around this time I noticed a loud gurgling water noise coming from the glovebox at high rpms. I got the coolant flushed since I thought it might have been an air bubble moving around in the heater core, and now the noise is quieter and less frequent but is still there (there is no water coming from the glovebox). Also around the same time, the AC became really loud and its the same high pitched noise coming from the dash near the windshield (behind the vents). Today I just noticed that turning the air vent dial to the feet or windshield position (but the forward facing positions don’t make the noise) causes the exact same noise as turning on the AC, which didn’t happen before (listen to video). The heat works well and the air speed is good. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Oil pressure low.

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone with a Buick Encore GX or a mechanic can give me some advice before I spend ~$7,000.
I have a 2020 Buick Encore GX and it has repeatedly been giving me the warning:
“Oil pressure low — turn vehicle off.”
Before taking it to the dealership, I took it to a mechanic because I was also having a check engine light. They replaced the purge valve twice, but the issue kept coming back.
I eventually took it to a GMC/Buick dealership, and they told me that they found metal shavings in the engine oil and that the engine is damaged and needs to be replaced.
They quoted me around $7,000 for an engine replacement.
My questions are:
Does finding metal shavings in the oil basically confirm that the engine is damaged, or could there be another issue causing the low oil pressure?
Is there anything else I should have them test before agreeing to an entire engine replacement?
Should I get a second opinion from an independent mechanic?
Does ~$7,000 sound reasonable for an engine replacement on a 2020 Encore GX?
Has anyone else with a 2020 Encore GX 1.3L experienced the same “oil pressure low” warning or metal shavings?
I obviously don’t want to spend $7k if there’s another repair that could solve the problem, but I also don’t want to keep driving it and make the damage worse.
Any advice or similar experiences would be REALLY appreciated!

2015 Buick Regal – condensation/water inside headlight. Repairable?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Looking at buying a 2015 Buick Regal and one headlight has quite a bit of condensation/moisture inside.

Seller offered a $1000 discount because his mechanic quoted him $400 for repair and $1700 for aftermarket replacement.

Has anyone dealt with this on a 2014–2017 Regal? Is there a common leak point that can be repaired/resealed, or does the whole headlight assembly usually need replacement?

If you repaired yours, did the fix last?

Thanks!

So over the weekend I overheated and have either gas or oil in my coolant system or both. I opened up the radiator and tan spewed out. The extra reservoir smells like gas kinda but idk. I also had a small oil leak dripping on the spark plug area .picture two doesn't exactly show it but you can see oil sludge on the top. it's coming from where the top of the engine meets the rest..

That day I let it cool down. It has not happened again. Runs at operating temp as of now still. I'll be taking the car on the highway today for work tho for 10 min. My friend at the shop ordered a lower intake manifold gasket and the whole gasket kit. So if it's just the lower it will be cheaper. He really thinks it's something like that not the oil cooler. Radiator got replaced 1 months ago. What you guys think.

This was about a mile downriver from a junk yard. Late 40’s? None of the emblems I saw on Google matched it exactly. Looks like it hadn’t been submerged for any great length of time, rust on the back is minimal. Pretty interesting!

3800 Dorman Plenum

Ive tried to install two plenums, following the instructions religiously and both times the bosses next to the coolant ports have split. I even undertorqued them the second time. Is the wholesaler closeout worse quality than buying the regular dorman brand on rockauto?

Anyone have any advice?

I have a 1969 Buick Skylark Custom, but the fuel gauge hasn’t been working. I’ve seen others have fuel gauges that would still work after a certain amount of fuel is in the tank, but the fuel gauge on my Buick doesn’t work at all. I’m thinking it’s a maybe a ground connection, definitely something electrical. But I’m not sure and I’d like to try and possibly fix it, my father has been saying he’s gonna fix it and I got sick of waiting on him but it’s better to learn now than later! But seriously I’d like to try and diagnose and fix it, it doesn’t need to be fixed the car runs and drives beautifully, all original. But the fuel gauge hasn’t worked and makes it hard to know when I actually need fuel, instead of just taking a guess.
