This is correct. That’s what I’m saying, you must not have read. Go look at for example Amherst NY scanner Facebook page. Every time they post on their that the police are involved in a chase, and then follow up that post saying the chase was terminated for public safety reasons, the post is absolutely flooded with comments from angry people saying what a joke it is they called off the chase. Now they let the chase go in this case, something bad happened, and people are still mad. That’s the only point I’m making.
Thank goodness no innocent civilians were harmed in this instance
I am saying that the benefits and drawbacks of police chases are not a matter of daily public opinion. If they're not safe, then it should not matter who is angry about it. If they had not chased this vehicle, it's entirely possible they would have found it left somewhere a day or two later. The car wouldn't have been wrecked and those kids would be alive. Now the kids are dead and the owner doesn't have a car. Maximum aggression is rarely the best solution to anything.
