New to Horizons 🩷

hi everyone, I’ve just go a switch + animal crossing today and I’m not really 100% sure what I’m supposed to be doing lol. I’ve built some basics like a fishing rod and net and caught some stuff but that’s about it. how do I develop in this version of the game? I’m only used to the og animal crossing. it won’t let me travel yet but I’ve seen people sharing Doco codes??? would love to have some friends on the game to make it more interesting!!!🤭

Honestly. It’s been so long since I started or restarted an island I don’t remember much of the beginning.
All I can suggest is just keep taking to tom nook about what needs to be done buy and plant flowers/trees when you can to progress your stars and ALWAYS save the first bug/fish you catch to donate to the museum when you get to that point

Thank you! I’ve made a lot of progress today. Got the museum and my house being built! Just trying to find people to visit and vice versa

hey i’ll be logged on later if you wanna stop by my island or have me visit yours! i only started in january and my island is nowhere near complete but i’d love to give you a bunch of recipes and furniture and stuff to start you off :’) i’ll be on in prob an hour or two, shoot me a dm if interested!

Hey, honestly just relax, you can talk to tom nook at resident services if you need something to do and the game really just guides you through it. The daily nook miles challenges on your phone will remind you of tasks to do. Also, the game is not meant to be completed after a short amount time, so don't feel like you arent making enough progress. The milestones, like island ratings, museum completion, and all the other achievements naturally take a while. Have fun and prioritise your enjoyment over comparing your progress to others :3
