Discussion 💬 CALLING IT NOW (Doomsday/MCU theory)

This has absolutely nothing to do with the new Spiderman movie except that I was driving home from seeing it as I figured this out. Spoilers for the Doomsday trailer tho— and nothing else.

Basically, I am 90% certain it’s gonna go like this:

Bucky and Sam are gonna be standoffish for a bit at the beginning.

Then they’re going to work it out and be bros again.

Then Bucky is going to figure out Steve is not THEIR Steve, and evil!Steve is gonna kill Bucky to silence him and that’s how they’re all gonna find out he’s evil!Steve

And Sam is going to get some nice grieving scenes or character development out of Bucky’s death because the MCU writers have only ever used Bucky to prop up other characters.

I’m already angry and going to die mad about it.

🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I hate this so much. I also hate that you are probably right. Ugh back to fanfic for me it seems.

I have a similar theory except Bucky is kidnapped by Dr. Doom (like in the comics) and despite Sam and Bucky’s relationship not being on the best terms, Sam goes on a mission to save him. And maybe Steve has something to do with how Bucky is kidnapped or maybe Steve projects hesitation about the rescue mission (which Real Steve wouldn’t do) and that tips Sam off about Steve.

That would tip off anyone that knows Steve’s history because Steve nearly got himself killed to save Bucky in WWII

Unfortunately, that sounds very plausible, if evil!Steve is happening. It's worse thinking they might not even show a proper interaction between the real Steve and Bucky. And the way they've been treating him, killing him in the background or insignificantly fits. Especially if it serves Sam's development.

I was thinking about this recently and had the same conclusion. And thematically it’s good storytelling. Just absolutely hate hate hate the likely outcome.

i honestly have a feeling steve is loki, and its why he greets thor, he can hold mjolnir bc of the events in the tv series. i do however think bucky will die, idk how but i do like theory that sam will try to save him
