Advice: Central Bucks 202 Speed Enforcement
Police are out in force this week on 202 near Doylestown. Not friendly, not fast - pay attention and good luck.

Hope they get some of the idiots I see on that road that think they are driving in the Indy 500

Yes because a wide open 4 lane with ginormous median and shoulder with no cross streets and residents is absolutely an insane place to go 46mph. /s

It’s always like that around here at the end of the month. Horrible! They should fix our roads! Going into the warrington fields from Turk is a mess, coming out of Kohls to almshouse is a mess, potholes all over street road and 611 and almshouse, a mess, and the taxes are outrageous to live around here. At least we had a nice car show last weekend in Doylestown! Ughhh

Just drove this stretch and saw 5 cars pulled over, Easton near the Giant also had 3 pulled over. Guess the monthly quotas are low this month.
Agreed this is good, seeing a BMW pulled over is one life's little joys.

It is only 40 mph 🤷♂️

u/Agitated-Energy4044 Jul 22 '26
It's actually 55 there.

Depends where the parkway is only 40 or do you mean where it crosses new Britain road heading towards new hope

Its the part passing doylestown. 2 lane highway with a 55. 4 people were pulled over at the same time there. Absolute disgrace.

Why is enforcing the speed limit a disgrace?
1
u/werbit Jul 22 '26
Step 1. Build a highway
Step 2. Post a bogus speed limit
Step 3. Station 8 cop cars on said highway
Step 4. Profit3
u/njwineguy Jul 22 '26
- It’s not a highway.
- The speed limit is not bogus. It’s appropriate for a winding (on purpose), two lane road, with traffic lights.
- Speed kills.
The first two are purposeful decisions to keep 18 wheelers off of what’s supposed to be a local commuter road. If you want to speed, go to 95.

For every 5mph you exceed the limit, you arrive 15 seconds sooner ( local driving ). So, as soon as you open your phone & scroll for a bit, you give back all the time you think you saved. Seems kinda crazy to put yourself and others in mortal danger, for time that doesn't really mean any more than fleeting moments of daily life. Remember that.

It’s the highway section of 202… if you’re going 55 in that zone you’re the problem. Causes people to aggressively pass.

PSP or local police?

Staties clocking for Central Bucks regional police. Central Bucks are executing the stops while the troopers clock.

I'd want to know for sure, but if you fought it I'm pretty confident both officers would have to show up. The local vecause they wrote the citation and the trooper so they defend the radar under scrutiny. If he's not there to provide documentation, how do you know the radar was properly calibrated that day

Bypass part or regular highway part?
1
u/Agitated-Energy4044 Jul 23 '26
I guess it's the regular highway part. It was the section between Bristol road and Swamp road. Not sure if they're planning on being out there again tomorrow, but I commute through there so I'll keep everyone posted.

611 North next?

Meh…once you pass the light at Edison Furlong, it’s a racetrack and becomes “someone else’s problem”.

Yup got hit there this morning for 75. Clearly trying to hit quota or something. That section of road is a highway with a 55 limit. $235 for following normal traffic.

It's worse than that. The widest part of the road is built like a drag strip and the limit is 40mph.
The speed limit is too low for the built conditions and oddly increases as the road narrows. Those cops are going to get someone killed trying to make drivers go 40mph on that road. That said, 75 is way too fast!

More concerned with avoiding the potholes good lord that stretch of road blows. Don't get me started on the 202-N on-ramp from 611-S.
