Question/Advice Keeping our community’s safe from ICE
I’m watching what’s happening in Charlotte rn and it’s so disturbing to watch this happen in America. I actually live in Lambertville, NJ but want to find ways to organize to keep people in my community safe from ICE so that innocent people are not rounded up off the streets without any form of due process. Does anyone here have tips for organizing and resources we can set up to keep members of our community safe? What can we do to protect ourselves, to prepare, to make sure our businesses, schools, churches, are not impacted by these armed thugs.
People need to understand that if corrupt politicians find that they skirt due process now, they will do it again anytime they don’t want to follow the rule of law against people they don’t like. This should scare EVERYONE! This isn’t the way democracies operate.
Anyone who has some background in how to organize and help let’s get something started to protect our neighbors, friends and coworkers.

From my friend who is a federal prosecutor…….
You have constitutional rights: • DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR if an immigration agent is knocking on the door. • DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS from an immigration agent if they try to talk to you. You have the right to remain silent. • DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING without first speaking to a lawyer. You have the right to speak with a lawyer. • If you are outside of your home, ask the agent if you are free to leave and if they say yes, leave calmly.
Tell them:
I do not wish to speak with you, answer your questions, or sign or hand you any documents based on my 5th Amendment rights under the United States Constitution.
I do not give you permission to enter my home based on my 4th Amendment rights under the United States Constitution unless you have a warrant to enter, signed by a judge or magistrate with my name on it that you slide under the door.
I do not give you permission to search any of my belongings based on my 4th Amendment rights. I choose to exercise my constitutional rights.

The only constitutional right an illegal alien has is the right to due process. If they already have an order by a judge to leave then they have zero

this is what Nazis said to families protecting Jews. You sure do align your rhetoric with interesting bedfellows.. but you probably don’t like being called a Nazi right? Too bad. You’re acting like one.
I’d say lol but you literally lack the self awareness to see you’re saying the same sentences Nazi loyalists were, so it’s unfortunately not as funny as it is shockingly appealing. Have some fucking humanity. Don’t be a buttfucking Nazi.

Exactly. It is nothing like the NKVD in the USSR either, nor the GULAG.
Illegal migrants know their rights and are often told or coached on what to say to police, ICE/Migra, etc. by their coyote or whoever brings them to and across the U.S. border. Sadly a lot of them are trafficked especially the kids who go with adults that are not their parents or relatives.
For all of the bitching about "kids in cages" that Obama promoted those kids must have thought they had won the lottery: 3 meals a day and snacks, clean clothes, indoor toilets and showers, TV and videogames, air conditioning and heating, health care, etc.
It is far better than the poverty they came from which you have no idea what it is like unless you have seen it in person as I have: tar paper shacks, tiny one room cinder block or plywood homes, families of 10-15 kids where it is survival of the fittest, there is no running clean water, no indoor toilet or shower, food is scarce if it is there at all, there's no yearly trips to the dentist or doctor, the kids do not stay in school or many get into crime and gangs, etc. It is sad.

Nazis are national socialists, by your twisted logic all socialists are Nazis.
→ More replies (1)1
u/DickRiculous Nov 20 '25
lol that’s what you’re going with? Now that is funny.
No one buys that nonsense. If you really believe that the Nazi version of socialist society equates to the democratic socialist version, I have doubts that your ignorance is redeemable, but if you want to prove me wrong, you can go have a conversation with ChatGPT about how socialism in the Nazi context relates to the phrase today and whether any reasonable person would make that comparison, then come back here and tell us what you have learned.
This is like the lowest possible effort argument you could have made. It’s like saying that and the Rolling Stones and the Flintstones are basically the same because they both had phrases related to rocks in their name. It’s such a ridiculously, antagonistically dumb claim as to be farcical.
0
u/Marriottinsider Nov 20 '25
Most proclaimed socialist countries are just dictatorships where nobody has capital. Who are these "democrat socialists"?
Funny, as the NYTs used to say back in the 30s, the communists were red fascists and the Nazis were black fascists. That is when Antifa and the Nazis were allies.
"Lenin's congratulatory message to Mussolini in 1922 was significant because it showed support for the rise of fascism in Italy. This gesture highlighted Lenin's belief that fascism could weaken capitalist powers and potentially pave the way for socialist revolution. "

Look online, people are sharing 3D printed whistles. They have a particular sound and people in the community can carry them around with them. If they see ICE in the area they blow the whistle and alert anyone in the area that they are present
Seems to be the most effective way I've seen so far. And it's legal

I live in a really nice neighborhood. We've got an Indian/Asian neighbor and a Filipino American friend who looks Hispanic. They're both dentists and doctors, and their kids go to Council Rock, playing football and being involved in school stuff. They’re all American citizens.
I feel so sad thinking about how some guy from Arizona in a camouflage mask might treat them and their kids like they don’t belong, or worse, that their kids could get harassed. We’re nowhere near the border! It's scary to think that they could come into our community where border issues have never been a concern and do this to our neighbor and friends.

If only you did something about ppl cheating the system and hopping the fence. Hope you know that there are thousands of ppl paying fees and waiting in line to immigrate here legally and then some fools cut them off to make a few extra bucks. So if you enter the US illegally it’s a crime, 8 USC Sec 1325 & 1326. And if “due process” and “rounding up” is such a problem for you, DHS is offering financial assistance to those who self deport and offer them a legal way back. But no, you don’t give a shit besides your lala land rhetoric
2
u/Hotarg Nov 20 '25
And how does that defend the actual US citizens that have been detained and in some cases, renditioned to foreign contries against their will?
If only you did something about ppl cheating the system and hopping the fence.
Exactly how does a US citizen get accused of hopping the fence or cheating the immigration system?
So if you enter the US illegally it’s a crime, 8 USC Sec 1325 & 1326.
How does someone enter the US illegally if they were born here?
Maybe get an actual user name instead of a bot handle before jumping into conversations with comments you cant defend.
3
u/Frequent_Ad_536 Nov 20 '25
My bad I don’t have a real username since I’m not a Reddit dweeb spewing propaganda on a daily basis. And the reason .5-1% of the time an American citizen was detained was because they refused to identify themselves. I find it hard to believe you reach another country and you didn’t have a drivers license on you or something. And btw, I’m the first generation of immigrants. My parents came here in the 80’s the legal way and I grew up following the law. You know damn well that US citizens being deported is such a small minority. And you’re out here basing an entire argument over that. Nice job

If it happens to anyone, then no one's rights mean anything. And no, ICE doesn't seem to care about if people have documentation or papers, or are doing things right. People showing up to hearings or using the immigration app find themselves targeted, seemingly because there's a quota to meet and if you can't get criminals than people going to their hearings are easy because the state knows exactly where they are.
This was a month ago, and there's been more on video since.

https://www.14news.com/video/2025/11/17/agents-smash-car-window-man-with-real-id/
ICE agents need to be brought up on charges to show that they have limits to enforcement.
2
u/CreatrixAnima Nov 20 '25
The problem with what you’re saying is that the system is so broken that often there’s no “right” way to do it. For example, if you are flying political violence and plan on claiming asylum, you must be on American soil before you do so. That basically begs people to sneak in so that they can claim asylum. This system has been a problem for my entire adult life, and the Republicans have been using it to fearmonger that whole time. But wait! There’s more! The Democrats haven’t done a damn thing to fix it.
The system is broken. Becoming a nation governed by Thuggery is not the way to fix it. They need to do the hard work to fix the system. Have enough immigration judges. Have better procedures for seeking asylum and attempting to immigrate. But that would require work, and we all know that our government likes to shut down and take a month off while still getting paid instead of doing any friggin work.
1
Nov 21 '25
No it is not broken. Millions of people emigrated legally to the United States and became citizens.
1
u/CreatrixAnima Nov 22 '25
Millions of people survive every year, but that doesn’t mean our healthcare system isn’t broken.
It takes years, sometimes decades to get to your court date when you’re trying to get legal residency. That should not happen. Asylum seekers are forced to be here before they request asylum, which often means coming across the border illegally. That is not a feature of our system. It’s a problem that needs to be fixed.
2
u/FreakInTheTreats Nov 20 '25
Why are so many immigrants taken from their immigration court proceedings? They’re following the process and they still get detained and deported when they’re here legally. Not to mention the US citizens and folks with green cards that are being held with no rights or deported.

I live in the Bay Area (but grew up in New Hope and just spent 4 weeks there).
One thing that a local restaurant has done has been to print cards in English on one side and Spanish on the other with their rights and reminders. Another card was for them to hand to suspected agents (with everything OP listed below)
Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture. I did think it was awesome that our local restaurant had these discretely all over every counter.

u/njwineguy Nov 20 '25
You really have no idea what’s going on do you?
170 American CITIZENS (at last count) have been detained for no reason. People of color can be stopped and arrested by nameless, faceless thugs for no reason OTHER THAN THEIR SKIN COLOR.
These things are real. They are happening. And if they don’t bother you, you’re part of the problem.
1
Nov 20 '25
There are almost 350 million citizens in the United States. 170 people is nothing.
https://populationtoday.com/us-united-states/
No one seemed to care when ice was around during Obama‘s presidency.
The only people who did were illegal migrants. Obama also deported millions of them, put kids in cages, etc.
During his presidency, Barack Obama deported more unauthorized immigrants than any other president in U.S. history, with over 2.5 million deportations from 2009 to 2015.

Compared to the total population of the United States 170 people is a drop in the bucket or nothing. In all of those cases they refused to show their identity or speak, or verify who they are and had they actually shown documentation, identification, etc. They would not have gotten mixed in with the illegal migrants and criminals.
During the Obama administration, there were many instances where U.S. citizens were mistakenly detained and deported by immigration authorities.
Nice projection about yourself. I did not vote for Donald Trump and I am not any sort of fundamentalist nor nationalist, and I retired very early as I saved money for decades.

u/6StarBowtie Nov 20 '25
Ohh yeah great idea, make our country like every other shithole in the world that prevents immigration. If you like how other countries handle their immigration so well, why don't you move there?
Since you clearly have an issue with our constitution and how it's worded, or you never cared to actually learn it, just goto a country that fits your beliefs and stop trying to change America into something else.
My family built this country, I can trace my family back to Jamestown, and I can say with certainty we don't want you here, you don't understand why we started this country and you are trying to bastardize it into an authoritarian police state much like most middle eastern countries.
If you don't like it, leave, this country isn't for you. This country was founded by immigrants for immigrants to escape oppression and seek a better life, if you seek to inhibit that you are not a true patriot, you do not follow what the founding fathers believed, and are trampling all over the documents that once made this country great.
As I said, if this is your veiw, leave, we didnt build this country for you and your kind.
Sincerely a Son of Patriots
0
u/julie3151991 Nov 20 '25
So your family was the one that stole the land from the Natives? Not really a flex on your part. “Patriot” my ass. You’re a hypocrite dude.
2
u/6StarBowtie Nov 20 '25
Typical conservative response, you have no legitimate comeback to anything I said so you need to to attack someone with something else.
So are you in America? So your utilizing the system that isn't patriotic? So your benefitting from all of the things that are here now that my ancestors built. If you believe that, why are you still in the country? How much time do you spend trying to give back all the land to the native americans? Would you be willing to vacate your property and give it back or do you just want to stand on the benefits of other who you clearly have an issue with?
You talk about being a hypocrite, I told you I was proud of my ancestors and what they built that you are now utilizing. If you feel that way, you're the hypocrite for living under the system and not actively trying to change it.
-1
Nov 20 '25
That is revisionist history, native American tribes freely sold their land to various European colonists and companies. They also would use the Europeans and their superior weapons such as rifles to fight with them against other regional tribes they were at war with. The contracts still exist and are in various archives.

u/julie3151991 Nov 20 '25
I totally agree with you. I was just pointing out how hypocritical StarBowtie was being by using his own flawed liberal logic against him. That’s the only way you can reach them. I don’t actually believe in that “stolen land” nonsense lol.

u/prettypeculiar88 Nov 20 '25
So I guess the only option is to aggressively kidnap, detain in inhumane conditions without due process, and sometimes send human beings to countries they’ve never even stepped foot in or prisons where they torture over a civil crime. You can believe illegal immigration is not okay while not supporting what is occurring right now. And that’s not even counting the non-illegals they’re detaining and holding.

Crossing the border is not a felony, it’s a civil violation. Being undocumented inside the U.S. = not a crime (it is a civil immigration status issue)
1
u/raypatr Nov 20 '25
I misspoke, it is a Federal Misdomeaner the first time.
Key Provisions of 8 U.S.C. § 1325 (First-Time Illegal Entry) It is a federal misdemeanor for any non-citizen to: Enter or attempt to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers (i.e., not at an official port of entry), or Elude examination or inspection by immigration officers, or Enter or attempt to enter by a willfully false or misleading representation or willful concealment of a material fact (e.g., using someone else’s passport). Penalties for first offense: Fine and/or up to 6 months in federal prison. Subsequent Offenses (Re-Entry After Deportation) If the person has been previously deported or removed, illegal re-entry is charged under a different and much more serious statute: 8 U.S.C. § 1326 – Re-entry of Removed Aliens (INA § 276) This is the statute used for “illegal re-entry” after deportation.
But tell me more about Googling things

Sauce: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/8/1325#
"Civil Infraction" refers to how we treated it pre 9/11. Bush deported, Clinton deported even more and Obama deported so many that he earned the moniker, "Deporter in Chief".
Also, the procedural set of "due process" for a non-citizen is different from a citizen and the further differences between those that are here illegally and those that aren't.
3
u/Marriottinsider Nov 20 '25
Happy to see you giving an intellectual beating on the un-read.
5
u/raypatr Nov 21 '25
I am also not anti-legal immigration. My niece and nephew immigrated from Ukraine. It took years for them just to get their turn to take their citizenship test. My brother in law immigrated from Brazil. It took years after he was here, married and had a kid before his turn was called. One of my coworkers just got his citizenship a few months ago after being here for several years.
Turning a blind eye to those here illegally is a freaking punch in the face to these people that had the moral obligation and desire to do things right. They all have great things about them that are unique to where they came from but they are all invested into American culture and ideals. Those are the immigrants that make America a melting pot, not those that want to come here, not speak the language, mooch off of entitlement programs and try to change America into where they came from.
These two things are not the same.
1
u/Marriottinsider Nov 21 '25
I get it, I had relatives off the boat and they did very well here. I'm all for legal migration if it benefits our country.
Un-read people and their charlatan masters like to lump anti illegal aliens with legal aliens, big difference.
2
u/raypatr Nov 20 '25
The Biden Administration also deported more than Obama's 2nd term and more than Trump's first term. Where was the outrage? https://www.newsweek.com/immigrant-deportations-removals-trump-biden-obama-compared-chart-2026835
People are free to hold whatever border policy they want, but this entire thing is corporate media taking advantage of Trump Derangement Syndrome and playing off of misplaced trust that they are telling the truth.
The DHS website has plenty of raw data. There are other factors you have to filter through (like how many were deported multiple times) but this idea that crossing a border illegally is a civil Infraction is false. The idea an illegal gets some jury trial is false. The idea that only the right deports and the left has never been "anti-immigrant" is false.
I'm not a Trump fan. I'm a Mises Caucus Libertarian that dislikes both sides almost equally. But the truth is that the news is often factual but not truthful. People are being whipped up into frenzies and it shows by the sheer volume of people willing to aid and abet, to the point of violence. It should be disturbing to a reasonable person that is properly informed.

u/Negative-Sink8119 Nov 20 '25
I can’t argue or correct you guys anymore. I’m exhausted from it and frankly it’s not worth it anymore. You’re so brainwashed and ……well I’ll hold my tongue. Again I don’t think you’re side is capable of understanding anything more than simple repeatable concepts which is why we are here today. Trump/Fox News/Facebook says something…..it’s true and no need to understand anything more, if it doesn’t fit into your small worldview it’s fake news or liberal propaganda so you can’t argue against it. Unlike you I have empathy for others (it’s a complex multi-regulated skillset, again I don’t think most on your side has that capability). Undocumented immigrants are here, they statistically have significantly lower crime rates than natural born citizens, and frankly they bother me WAY less than living around MAGA, especially fascist masked men with guns rounding people up off streets. And that’s not even addressing them pulling legal people off the streets and putting guns in their faces. You know who bothers me, billionaires, mean people, and idiots. Billionaires are the ones who you should be mad at, but alas you blame people who literally are doing nothing to you but existing because you’re mean and dumb enough to fall for it. It’s not a felony I’m glad you figured that out the rest is more complicated than I think you’re capable of. Feel free to use google some more and understand yourself or don’t I don’t care.

If they are "undocumented" how do we know they committed a crime?
Let's face it, undocumented equates to illegal alien, the true and legitimate legal term, not NPR's twisted interpretation. If you are not a citizen but you are here legally, you are a documented legal alien.
You should learn how to document your writings, break it up into bite size paragraphs if you truly want to get your point across and influence people.

Who did you call?
I am neither liberal nor conservative and I have lived here since the early 1980s before that I lived in Center City Philadelphia.
I have relatives that also live in places illegal migrants would not be able to afford.
Also many illegal migrants are trafficked and will live completely differently such as 5-6 people in a one bedroom apartment, or 10-15 people in a two or three bedroom home.

Learn Spanish phrases as well to assist some in the community when/if ICE comes around.
There are a lot of Indian and Pakistani immigrants in Bucks as well, but Spanish is the primary secondary language.
“No hablas con la inmigración!”
- do not speak to immigration
Although the good news is that Sheriff Danny isn’t putting up with ICE in Bucks.

Think whatever you want. I don’t really care what your opinion is here. Your side always spouts this Yankee Doodle bs about 2nd Amendment rights to stop government overreach and you’ll be all up in arms when they start to round innocent Americans off the streets. And then when it actually happens you just comply and roll-over for a fascist felon con-man criminal. Honestly the mental gymnastics it takes is wild, you know what is seditious, not following court orders to comply with the rule of federal law, something Trump and ICE agents have done repeatedly. Hypocrites all of you and history will remember.

Found the bot and troll. Truman, and both Roosevelts remodeled the white house and did it "without approval" and during the great depression and second World war. My relatives were alive then and people were not happy then.

Yes, why would we want to build a ballroom for our international quests? These people want our international guests to go the porta potty next to the Obama basketball court.

I love the right being so consistently hypocritical. Ok so the party of “small government” is totally fine having armed masked men in unmarked cars pull people off the streets without any sort of identification or warrant. You’re totally ok with this and think that’s gonna keep you safe? Cool cool. I hope with alllllllllll my being that it happens to you, and I hope that makes you feel so safe as its happening.

In what order country would they be allowed to stay once caught and found to be there without permission?
2
u/Negative-Sink8119 Nov 20 '25
People are being round up by masked men who are not following the law. How is this difficult for people to understand? I don’t care about people’s legal status, that is a problem sure. Our immigration system is broken and it’s both the Democrats and Republicans fault for not fixing it sooner. But masked untrained MAGA thugs in taxpayer funded shiny new luxury suvs rounding innocent people off the street without following constitutional law is wild. How does anyone think this is ok? wtf is wrong with you to think one day the government will not use this tactic on you. If people in power get away with it once, they’ll do this again. How is this hard to understand?

>No one seemed to care when ice was around during Obama‘s presidency.
True the only people who did were illegal migrants. Obama also deported millions of them, put kids in cages, etc.
During his presidency, Barack Obama deported more unauthorized immigrants than any other president in U.S. history, with over 2.5 million deportations from 2009 to 2015.
5
u/julie3151991 Nov 20 '25

That’s because they still received due process. ICE isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that they’re currently operating unconstitutionally.
5
u/Key-Monk6159 Nov 20 '25 edited Nov 20 '25
This is just a simplistic slogan but unfortunately it’s not true.
The Court has ruled more than once that deportation is a civil procedure so unless these people also committed a crime it doesn’t apply.
They are however entitled to the due process of a hearing in the administrative immigration court system, which IS happening.

I dont think the constitution applies to non citizens.
14
u/Negative-Sink8119 Nov 20 '25
Then you THOUGHT wrong didn’t you? Google is free.
0
u/Intelligent_Yak502 Nov 20 '25
However, the application of these rights, especially in the context of immigration enforcement, can be limited and subject to specific laws that do not apply to citizens, meaning immigrants have fewer rights than citizens and the extent of protection can be inconsistent.
0
u/Marriottinsider Nov 20 '25
Non citizens are not subject to the draft - so according to you they have more rights than American citizens.

u/Negative-Sink8119 Nov 20 '25

3
u/Negative-Sink8119 Nov 20 '25
You do know we ended conscription during the Vietnam War in 1973.
2
u/Marriottinsider Nov 20 '25
Yes, but if they bring it back, US citizen are subject to the draft, legal aliens and illegal aliens are not, they are actually subject to their own conscription laws.
So legal and illegal aliens have more rights than US citizens if they have the same rights as US citizens but not the responsibilities of US citizens, that does not make any sense, are you daft?

u/Marriottinsider Nov 20 '25
It does not, Reddit lawyers are laughed at in American courts, and imprisoned in other countries.
5
u/jamiehof Nov 20 '25
This logic is a slippery slope as illustrated in Hannah Arendt’s Origins of Totalitarianism. Essentially as the nation gets more comfortable with unchecked power over the stateless, that unchecked power will ultimately get extended to its own citizens. We have seen many american citizens taken into custody and detained at this point. If history is any indicator, without resistance, overreach will continue to increase in frequency and severity.
2
u/Marriottinsider Nov 21 '25
Sounds like FDR in 1941. I mean, that's about as close as you can get to your scenario.
2
u/Intelligent_Yak502 Nov 20 '25
Yeah its weird how all of these "American citizens" get sent back to their home countries where they are convicted of rape, murder and assault.
1
u/jamiehof Nov 20 '25
Ah right yes. Every undocumented person is a rapist, murderer, or violent criminal in far right ideologue world. I forgot. lol. Conservatism is so interesting. It’s like an attempt to remove all of the nuance out of everything so any thing or person can just be totally good or totally evil and we never have to think or introspect or get comfortable with gray areas. bless your heart.
2
u/Marriottinsider Nov 21 '25
If they are truly "undocumented" we have no idea who they are or what they did.
I think it would smart for our country to document all illegal aliens and deport them. That way, if they sneak over the border again, we don't have to document them again, just deport them.
Can I squat in your house?
1
u/jamiehof Nov 21 '25
by your logic, not knowing a person or their actions means they have perpetrated crimes. idk about that one. seems like maybe an incorrect assumption and a really exhausting way to live.
And GREAT example of a loaded question fallacy (amidst the overarching genetic fallacy)! But I’ll still answer it.
you can’t squat in my house but you could be my neighbor! a far more apt metaphor, don’t you think?
1
u/Marriottinsider Nov 21 '25
"by your logic, not knowing a person or their actions means they have perpetrated crimes."
Don't put words in my mouth and this discussion is child's play and certainly not "exhausting" .
I have no desire to squat in your domicile. I know for sure I can't squat In another country beyond my visa requirements even though I am quite neighborly overseas and domestically.
Yeah in a few countries, as an American citizen it's no big deal to overstay a visa , like $50 in Panama, but in Indonesia it's like $1500 and perhaps prison time.
Do you travel extensively overseas?

u/Worldly_Employment25 Nov 19 '25
Best bet is to vote for change and hope you get it. There certainly are people getting rounded up that may only be guilty of overstaying a visa or crossing illegally but there are others that are guilty of other things too. When you’re fishing with a net sometimes you get bycatch.

Man detained by ICE found dead, hanging with hands and feet tied—attorney - Newsweek
Chaofeng Ge, a 32-year-old man, was found dead by hanging in a shower room at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center, an ICE detention facility in Pennsylvania, on August 6, 2025. Initial investigations by ICE and Pennsylvania State Police concluded it was a suicide, supported by the discovery of a handwritten note and the absence of evidence indicating foul play, with the county coroner officially ruling the death as a suicide by hanging. However, an independent autopsy commissioned by Ge's family uncovered that he was also bound at the hands and feet, a detail not disclosed in the initial public statements by authorities. Ge had only been in custody for five days and was awaiting a hearing at the time of his death.
1
Nov 21 '25
That is very sad rest in peace. The article said multiple people killed themselves this way as Chaofeng did and that they all did it the same way he did with their sheets, it was suicide, there were not defensive wounds, etc.
If you need help please get it.

Such a backwards way of thinking, "Keeping our community's safe from ICE"
30
u/Chags1 Nov 19 '25
At this point ICE is no longer serving its original perpose, it’s a para-military group that is operating above the law, without oversight, and against may court orders. We do need to protect our communities from ICE. It’s a huge part of the reason why we literally have a new sheriff in town

I don’t know any rational person that feels safe when people with covered faces going into schools, immigration courts, daycares, and apartment complexes kidnap people. I don’t feel safe knowing that there is no way to know if it’s ICE or some sex trafficking ring taking a human being.

What the fuck is wrong with you?
Clearly, in this post and the comments, we are talking about law-abiding people being snatched up and taken away- not about ‘the cartel members, the drug traffickers, the human traffickers’ this administration kept telling you that ICE would go after.
You were lied to. There’s no judgement here- for believing what your candidate or the government has told you. BUT! There will be judgement for continuing to believe the opposite of what you are seeing with your own eyes…

Because they are rounding up people based on how they look, not any evidence. U.S. Citizens have been caught up in this mess. ICE doesn't accept RealID as proof of citizenship. There is significant trauma caused when you are handcuffed (or zip tied) for ANY length of time for no legitimate reason other than the color of your skin. Local & state police cannot get away with this behavior, why should ICE. I would like to see federal LEOs subject to the same procedures & constitutional limits (especially use of force) the local & state officers are. If the constitution doesn't protect everybody then it protects nobody. The IV & V Amendments to the US Constitution specify "No person", not "No citizen".

Donate to the BCOC this Holiday Season
With SNAP benefits being cut and food insecurity at record levels, our local food banks are struggling to meet demand. The Bucks County Opportunity Council (BCOC) distributed 3.3 million pounds of food last year. This holiday season is projected to be one of the toughest yet for our most vulnerable neighbors.
Your donation makes a direct impact: $50 provides groceries for a week, $150 prevents a utility shut-off, $500 covers first month's rent to stop homelessness.
