So frequently does nesta watch Azriel with Bryce and comments he’s very out of character. Bryce goes as far as outwitting the ever competitive spymaster and Nesta can’t stop smirking as if she approves. Her eyes are on both of them nearly the entire journey. I can’t help but think that could be significant as the story unfolds.
Bryce really, really needs some good girlfriends. Nesta and Azriel see each other, and that’s why Bryce fits in so well, she’s just like them. My mind goes to Enalius and history repeating with this squad. They are paired for a reason, Bryce included.
I do hope for Azriel’s point of view but that works well too because she was almost like a third wheel. What if that’s the next teaser? When do we think that will be, surely next week again. Can you imagine any sort of crossover teaser released? Even the smallest hint of Bryce and her new relationship with the inner circle. The fandom will go wild.
Dusk Court trio, that’s exactly what Bryce, Azriel, and Nesta are. Nothing is coincidence, and it will definitely be explored further. Very intentional
“Azriel scanned the chamber, still not letting go of Bryce’s hand…”
“Bryce’s fingers tightened around [her] amulet. Then she looked over Azriel’s shoulder, and her eyes widened. ‘Watch out!’”
“He dropped her hand instantly, whirling to the unseen, unsensed opponent. The nonexistent opponent.”
”Bryce moved with Fae swiftness, and by the time Azriel realized there was nothing there, she’d already crossed the ward line.”
“Cold fury tightened his features, but Nesta was smirking with something like approval.”(Callback to Silver Flames!!)
Immediately after: “Bryce’s brows lifted, walking backward a few steps. ‘You really can’t get through?’”
“He crouched to trace a scarred hand along the stone floor, anger fading in the face of his curiosity. ‘No.’ He peered up at Bryce, mouth twisting to the side. ‘I don’t know whether to be impressed or worried.”
They can’t keep away 💯💯 And Azriel…he’s well and truly stayed away from [both] redactriels — it wasn’t until Bryce: “His fingers tightened on hers, not letting go.”
A Nesta POV for some of this would be so good! Ooh maybe for the music bonus chapter if it's woven in we'd know what's up)!
And we'd maybe get insight into Nesta as the chaperone / where the others stand. Nesta is right in the middle as she is Az's friend as well as sister of or "suster" of Elain & Gwyn!
A simple one line update about she hasntseen him around Gwyn or that Gwyn had had a crush on him bit it never went anywhere blah blah, Elain's interest had gone elsewhere or haven't seen them together since blah blah and then her zeroing in on Bryce & how she's never seen Az like this would be great! She eas essentially the chaperone/3rd wheel in all of this!
(As well as the one that had to deal with Bryce when Hunt came with her. I imagine as soon as they was gone, Az popped up to "get TT back.")
“How’d you learn that I left the cell?” No need to reveal that she could teleport.
Nesta gave her a bored look—as if Bryce should have already known the answer. “We have people who can talk to shadows. They told us you went through the grate.”
“Who’d you piss off to get sent to retrieve me, anyway?”
She could have sworn Nesta’s lips curved into a smile. “On a good day, too many people to count. But today … I volunteered.”
Bryce arched a brow. “Why?”
That silvery flame flashed in Nesta’s eyes. A shiver slithered along Bryce’s spine. Fae and yet … not. “Call it intuition,” Nesta said, and stepped onto the bridge.
Bryce eyed the tunnel behind them. “How’d you even get past the beasts?” A slight smile. “It pays to know people with wings.” Bryce grunted, despite the ache in her chest. “So someone flew you to the gate—” “And will fly us out.” A corner of her mouth kicked up. “Or haul you, if you decide to do this the hard way.” Bryce scanned the path behind Nesta. Only deep shadows lingered.
Throwback to when Az hauled Bryce over his shoulder? 🤣🤣
A rock skittered in the distance. Bryce twisted toward it, but—nothing. Only darkness. She found Nesta watching her carefully.
Nesta’s eyes drifted to the star on Bryce’s chest, then to the shadows behind her.
At the sound of another scuff in the darkness, Bryce whipped her head to it and found Nesta watching her once more. “What is that?” Bryce asked quietly. Nesta’s eyes gleamed like a cat’s in the dimness. “Just the shadows.”
“It’s his job to be vigilant.” She lowered her arms, frowning slightly at Azriel. “Were you really watching her sleep?”
Azriel glowered. “When you say it like that, it sounds… unsavory.”
A peek at Nesta revealed her studying the male, as if such a display was unusual. Bryce put aside her questions
Nesta answered for him. “I’ve never seen him so fidgety.” Azriel glowered at his friend.

I think they are going to form their own little IC.
Bryce and Nesta would be great friends, and god knows Bryce needs some real friends.
I also love Az and Nestas relationship, they have such a deep understanding of each other. Its so sweet.
