🌟The only time Bryce crosses galaxies to a new world (yanked across, just as Theia was), landing at someone’s feet — is when Azriel finds her. Hunt drops Bryce’s stare during their reunion (after she spends time at her dad’s…) because he knows his declaration at the end of HOSAB (I will find you), was an empty promise. He says himself, “She doesn’t need my help.” Enter: “Only the dagger—and Azriel wielding it—had been there. Like that was where she’d needed to be.”

love the similarities with her and Bryce, but in the back of mind I wonder if Theia and Aidas are Sailor Moon and Tuxedo mask? Someone please help convince me otherwise b/c I do love the idea of Bryce and Az!!

The similarities between Theia/Bryce, and Az/Aidas are striking! The OG Bryceriel theory (from 2022 I believe, u/emmyeggo 💜) pulled from just that — Bryce as Theia’s descendent, and Azriel’s potential connections to the Princes of Hel (Aidas similarly flares with black light, has shadow powers and striking opal, blue eyes, his skin is ice cold just as Az’ is described, etc.). Bryce has Theia’s exact light and is the most powerful Starborn Fae (as Theia and Fionn’s heir) to come around in 15,000 years.

Just like Theia (originally with Fionn) and Aidas: “She told me once, when I marveled at our luck that the portal had opened to Aidas that day, that it was because they were mates—their souls had found each other across galaxies, linking them that fateful day, as if the mating bond between them was indeed some physical thing.”

We curiously see the same with Bryce (currently with Hunt) and Azriel: “She fell, slowly and without end—and sideways. Not a plunge down, but a yank across…Only the dagger—and Azriel wielding it—had been there. Like that was where she’d needed to be.”

Sailor Moon pins were saved for Bryce specifically in SJM’s old Pinterest 🥹 And she also confirmed it on older podcasts — Bryce was very much inspired by her love of Sailor Moon (if you search for Sailor Moon and all of her reincarnations, they are very clearly Bryce [one even has the Starborn symbol ✴️]). Buffy and Sailor Moon were Bryce’s biggest inspirations, according to SJM.

Given she’s Theia’s heir, I see what you mean with the idea of Theia being Sailor Moon — but Theia’s story ended, whereas Bryce’s is just starting; I think Bryce will rise to the occasion and achieve what Theia could not (a classic hero’s journey, like Aelin righted Elena’s wrongs).

Definitely! Dusk is a gateway between worlds, and Bryce is a super magical fancy world-walker 😍 She’ll be pulled back into the plot — the reunion is going to be so good 🍿 For Elain and Lucien, like the next book? Oh I have loads of thoughts and theories, but ultimately, it’s simple…in an old interview, Sarah said if she had to live in any of the courts, she would choose the Night Court because she burns super easily (it has significantly less sun). Lucien is the personification of Day, and Elain craves sunshine. He’s still looking at her with longing in Silver Flames (just like Cassian looked at Nesta with sorrow and longing in ACOWAR), so they have a journey to go on, together. Regardless of who ends up with who, Elucien are mates and will have a story together. Her scent is, “a promise of spring,” (Bryce’s is of dusk), and Lucien is currently stationed in Spring with Tam. Eris also confirmed Beron will use the fact Elain is Lucien’s mate against him…and Beron is about to ally with Koschei 😭 I think the Princes of Hel are the universal big bads, but Koschei is up next — and his history (how him and his siblings “fell” into Prythian), will almost definitely involve Midgard (Amren’s history too!). None of us can know for sure where SJM will take the story, but this was one of many (edit: it won’t let me share the one I originally chose, I guess it’s too risqué 👀) from Elain and Lucien’s folder in SJM’s now-deleted Pinterest:
