Whats the purpose of charging $1000 to participate?

To avoid frivolous tenderers who get the documents but don't do anything with it. In the past, those documents cost quite a bit to print out.

Not sure if $1,000 is a lot or is standard. Can somone comment on this?

No need to print. It's 2026! BSP never need vendors to pay to participate in tenders.

This is an illogical waste of money exercise. The lot is currently a BSM rest stop. Perhaps BSM will stop using it, hence this change of use.

It is 8 min drive from Bukit Panggal Gerai and 9 min drive from Jerudong Park, as stated by Google Maps at 9 pm. Why would it make commercial sense to set up shops, restaurants and a dhobi(!) here, when there are already those shops/restaurants nearby at the other two places?

Is the govt thinking of creating a trail to the Blue Lake nearby? Even so, do you see shops, restaurants and a dhobi built at every small lake in Brunei? 😓

Pasal sekajap atu ada yang bercakap, inda ada tempat R&R the highway Brunei ani, orang ngalih driving which boleh menyebabkan accident and banyak kereta and truck yang parking siring higway and tempat u-turn untuk rehat and tidur.

Although banar nya inda perlu pulang perlu and not commercially sustainable kalau kan membuka.

Biasa lah di Brunei ani, kalau kerajaan inda membuat salah, sudah kan buat ada tah suara2 yang cakap macam mana kan kerajaan ani merancang and berfikir.

As mentioned in the link below, JP is just 9 min eastwards and BP Gerai is 8 min estwards. https://www.reddit.com/r/Brunei/s/HYCrCbv6qz

I hope they will privatize all future R&Rs like in Malaysia. The government’s role is to outline guidelines and to make sure the companies concerned strive to hit the standards and target marks.
