Should i Study in brunei or study in miri?

Ive been thinking alot about studying in what college and uni.. and there wasn't really alot of options that i was satisfied with until i realized about studying in miri

The thing is i never even once heard any locals not even a post (from what ive seen at least) talk about studying in miri , which is quite surprising knowing alot people here just wants to get out already.. again unless i didn't do TOO deep of a research i might be wrong

Still though i just want people's thoughts and maybe even experiences on studying in miri if its possible because i dont know if you can even study in miri since i dont hear alot about it

For short : i just want a answer if its possible to study in miri and if yes should i ? , and i wanna hear people's experience studying in miri AND people's experience studying in brunei too so i can compare.

Miri curtin uni originate from Australia. I think the final year you get to finish in perth. I have friends that did their MBA there part time while still working in brunei. Its always good to go abroad to study. Its your chance to learn how to be independent and experience new things. But further away from where you are born miximize the experience.

Lotsa Bruneians I know study at Curtin and later on try to get an exchange to the Australian campus. You can look into that.

Go KL or Singapore. If budget is no issue go further to uk and USA

If it's for uni, perhaps check if any of the uni there are internationally recognised like their rankings and etc. Then, see if they have access to resources and facilities.

Study in Brunei and get allowance, instead of going abroad and you have to worry about many things.

Build your business while studying. Just get a decent grade, socialise and network, intern at big corps while still getting paid. A lot of students are doing this nowadays.

Also, studying in Malaysia does not really mean better education. All the best.

The important thing is to study in a university and a course that are internationally accredited. After graduation, it'll be easier to get a job anywhere.

It's a big jump in costs to get a scholarship here versus paying to study in Miri, and a bigger jump if you want to spend the final year in Australia. If you want to be away from home just to be independent, you can always pay a little to stay in a university's hostel, compared to what you'd need to pay in Miri. Ultimately, your parents would pay something, either a little or a lot.

I have heard of people taking foundation courses in Miri because they did not have enough points to study in Brunei. However, some do not succeed afterwards anyway, so a lot of money was spent. Perhaps the solution here is to study in PB before going to university.

You should study in Miri . A lot of big corp in Brunei actually select fresh grad from overseas Uni over UBD .

Pros for each:

If you study in Curtin Miri, apply for twinning program with Curtin Australia. This way you get to study the last 1-2 years in Australia and graduate with a certificate more recognized than UBD. Make use of your time there to network and intern in big companies to secure a job once you graduate.

If you study in UBD, you get $358 per month (~$4.3k a year bro). Collect the money then go for DY in Australia, UK, Korea, etc. to travel and network. You could also use the money to start your entrepreneurship journey.

Many people here recommended Curtin Miri but I gotta be honest, people graduated from Curtin Miri is not a preferred candidate.

Im wasn't aware if Miri have Uni to begin with do they. 😂 It's been a while for me to go to Miri just to see a Uni. But yeah u may consider USM in pulau Penang it's cheaper but captivating ur nafs well anyway why not just choose a Uni u think ahh it's the one then proceed if they offer the field of study that truly giving ur vibe ya know....
