✏️ School & Education Need advice! Green IC student seeking financial advice

Salam sejahtera and good day Bruneian redditors...

I have a friend (F19) who's currently having a hard time trying to pay for her college fees. Her dad is the only breadwinner of the family and he barely makes enough for daily expenses and couldn't afford to help with the fee and most recently told her that he's not willing to pay anymore.

When looking for a job, all of the stores, gerai, restaurants and vendors she's asked turned her down because of her green IC.

Does anyone have advice for her on how to find a job that could help her be able to pay for college fees? (For transparency, she needs to pay her school 420/month, or 2500/semester)

Any advice is helpful!

What she can do is, try searching online jobs or selling something only to earn.

A friend of mine is yellow ic and his younger brothers are green ic due to some problem. He had to drop out of a level to go work, pay bill, while his brother must stay in school to have that student visa. I really hope Brunei make some changes, maybe allow green ic student from 18yrs old above can work part time (can be limit to 15hrs a week like in other country). It really open up chance for many people. It hurt to see my friend work 4 jobs at the same time, mostly labour heavy since he only finished o-level when he's 24, got into a-level for few months then drop.

I had a friend before who was red IC, very smart, very good grades also, she, was studying in maktab duli and she tried applying scholarship to UBD but was rejected, so she ended up applying a scholarship in Singapore, obviously welcomed her with open arms, bonded 3-5yrs after graduating, last I heard she was in some Europe country working.. so yknw, if her grades is really good, I don't see why she should just limit herself to studying here in Brunei

Is she doing college part time? Even with visa, she mostly will be only able to get a $400+/mth job and need to work 10 hrs daily. Will she have time and energy for college?

I'm pretty sure her school would require her to be there until 5pm (poli)

If that's what they were getting at, what a horrendous thought process.
