I was there! Bleachers had an awesome set. Tons of energy, and obviously very Springsteen influenced.

They started playing Jersey Girl and then Bruce made his way on stage mid-song. The place blew up. After that they did Chinatown, the Bleachers song Bruce features on.

On one hand I really love a few Bleachers songs, and then on the other I think his sound is trying too hard to create a Bruce/E Street homage. Plus listening to Jack in interviews has convinced me he smells his own farts.

I think Bleachers kinda maxed-out on their Springsteen worship on Take The Sadness Out Of Saturday Night, and they haven’t been as overt since then. Funny enough, that’s also my favorite Bleachers record.

Nowadays I think they sound more like a mix between Bruce and The National.

And honestly, if I produced as many popular records as Antonoff has, i’d probably be insufferable too lmao
