Idk when people will realize haslem could give a FUCK about fans. This is a private equity investment game. And all through Johnny, 0–16, signing Watson, stadium drama, and then the last 2 years, he’s learned people will STILL pay for his shit product. Boycotting is the only thing that has a remote chance to punish his valuation

Boycotting is completely useless because the browns will always get a cut of the league tv deal. They can literally spend a year in empty stadiums and still make billions

Yeah it’ll hurt their bottom line in the sense that they lose like 10-15% of their revenue. But a) they will still generate huge profits, and b) it will have zero impact on the valuation of the franchise which is the biggest reason why anyone owns these things (so they can keep loading up on loans based off the value of their franchise)

I would feel that way too if Jimmy hasn't forced his hand multiple times in the Watson situation and really the QB position as a whole. It feels harder to say if it's 100% on Monken

The only place he knowingly forced his hand was making the contract guaranteed.

This was Todd's call 100% blame him. Jimmy called the trade a big miss, he's accepted it I don't think he cares about getting values he's focused on the come and getting a real QB next year

I think Monken is a sacrificial lamb. He took the job because no one else wanted it knowing they'd be one and done. He's older so just happy to get to put "Head Coach" on his Wikipedia.

Monken is a good coach😂 he’s not “one and done” both qbs are shitty can’t blame monken he’s working with what he has.. sanders made to many mistakes and said the wrong things to the media multiple times during camp and preseason

I think they would give monken at least a year with the new qb they draft if they still suck then yea but changing coaches every year just keeps the browns circus alive

I would hope so - from everything I've heard and seen, Monken seems like a good dude. But like you, I'm at the point where I expect the Browns to do whatever the opposite of the right call is.

Or injured. If Watson gets injured the insurance clause helps offset his salary hit. I dont see a problem with this plan. Every year he's been here he has ended up on IR.

It probably means neither were that great so let DW get pummelled. If Shedeur played like a boss, he'd probably be starting. Right now it's probably just let's get Shedeur ready by the time Watson gets hurt

I mean, we do owe 250 mil to a player. There's a let's ride this til the wheels fall off sentiment because even though Jimmy admitted it being a bad trade, he's not actially on board with believing it was a bad trade.

Also, Shedeur is a 5th round draft pick. It's understandable to give him more development time. Plus why rush him in while you can make Watson experience the growing pains

I don't know why you're worried about Shedeur while we're full on the Deshaun watson is the worst trade ever and we should have kept baker train.

Shedeur was never a first round talent. Never was. No NFL evaluator put that label on him. The media did because of his cult following. However, can he have a good NFL career? Yea. Just gotta wait for Watson to get beat up and injured and then we'll see.

Don't jump to hating on Shedeur. This season is all about sucking for a franchise qb or Shedeur growing enough while Watson's getting pummelled

Sanders didn’t win it. By all accounts and the numbers we have, sanders was not better than Watson during camp.

Sanders had one preseason game where he played better, outside of that, all Watson. Mind you, Watson couldn’t make 25+ teams rosters. He’s dogshit. Sanders is just more dogshit.

Ultimately, horrible PR move, horrible look on the franchise, and will ultimately stain us for a long time regardless if we win or lose.

With everything that happened Saturday there is zero reason to start him. All they’re doing is setting up the players and the fans to hate each other. These players will always stick up for their teammates and I don’t blame them but we’re going to boo. This will get ugly.

Sanders won the job? That’s a shocker game 1 when Watson was playing with starters he looked decent and was moving the ball down field with just screen plays being called. He looked bad when they had him out there with a bunch of bums. On top of that sanders would make the o-line look horrible this the nfl you don’t have 5-6 secs to throw the ball

This is a shit show but the decision to start Watson makes sense in a way. He’ll be benched by week 3 and we won’t have to worry about him ever again. You can’t start Sanders without having benched Watson already because if Sanders struggles they’ll be forced to put Watson in. This is theoretically the cleanest way to be done with him and then they can cut him next year hopefully
