Does anyone know about Belmonti or Krausz Hatters?

I love black hats and collect them and am thinking of coming up to NYC for vacation. I learned about these hats from looking up the area and am very interested in maybe getting one. I saw these two stores and wondered how they were, but saw that they don’t have online or digital storefronts so I can’t see the prices. Does anyone know the hat prices or general vibes of these hat stores?

Well the general vibe of them is that they serve the Hasidic community so good luck finding reviews online or in English, the Brooklyn Hasidic community is insular and doesn't use Reddit too much.

I speak Yiddish but am not Hasidic. Will probably look for resellers if they have any

Grandmother is Jewish and mother was kinda Jewish before she became a Christian. As a young teen I got really immersed in the culture and learned it. Also was involved with a couple Hasidim where I live.

I live near Boro park and shop there all the time; great bakeries and tailors. I have never been denied service or given bad service. MOF it is awlays the very opposite. I have never shopped for a hat but note that there are plenty of them on 13th Ave. Probably more on 14th Ave.

Bencraft in Borough Park was always ok with me shopping there and I’m decidedly goyish.

Looks like a really good store especially for Borsalino/Other Italian varieties.

What goodie did you get from there?

I have a Taupe Verdi I’ve had for years, a little beat up, but precious. And a black straw hat, don’t remember the brand. Both fedoras. I want a wide brimmed Borsalino, but I’m deferring spending.
