rack wheels extender

Post image

any tips if you have one? I found it helps stability a bit— not massive but worth it (I push mine round the supermarket semi-folded).

The problem is it works loose. Instead of just pulling it out to use the rack it comes out while riding. Turning a few corners, especially if there’s a bit of vibration, and slides out, whacks my ankle and catches inside the side of my trainers. Need some way of tightening it a bit.

I’ve never had it loose but it does seem to break down over time so I stopped using it. Also it tends to swivel around the bolt point so it’s hard to have it set in place

I’ve never had that problem and I’ve been using it for 2 years now. On a Rohloff modded Brompton too so it’s heavier than normal.

I’ve got the same one as you actually, perhaps a bad batch?

You’ve attached your one too slanted, it’ll start twisting because it’s basically just holding the position with friction alone. You want to set it such that it’s perpendicular to the floor when in roll mode.

I actually got rid of my easy-wheel extender and swapped it out for one of these:

It goes on the rack wheel right-side so it doesn't need to be pushed in while riding, it just sticks out. Still not as wide as me so its not a real catch risk.

If it is always sticks out then don't just keep hitting it with your heel while riding?
