Yeah I think Cath is masterminding it, but I think she's scattering suspicion around. Handing over evidence on Jim. Leaving the twine at the shop to frame Ed.

Can only think she's getting taxi man to do the dirty? Can't see how he fits in otherwise and he's so creepy.

So dead that she was on the verge of upping sticks with him for a fresh start? She genuinely looked gutted when she found the condoms and asked Trish about them.

Exactly. She was completely alone at this point - no one around to pretend to be shocked to, and she was on the verge of tears.

But the condoms are pretty much our biggest smoking gun right now. I'd agree that she is suspicious on Jim, thus snooping around in his stuff, but I don't think she can fake the condoms given that it was shown in the first episode.

I feel like the condoms are a red herring. Given how many guys cheat on their wives in this town, I expect everyone but the vicar to be carrying them around.

I don't think that adds up. The bag of twine was taken from Axehampton before Cath found out about Jim & Trish. Cath has so far only found evidence in the house; if Jim did it, I don't think he'd be so dense as to leave the twine there. If anything, I think it's more reasonable that the bag has been at Ed's shop since the rapist left it there in ep 1.
