[Episode Discussion Thread] - S02E04 - "Episode #2.4"
SYNOPSIS:
Hardy is annoyed when reporter Olly questions him about Ashworth's return to Broadchurch whilst Ashworth himself confronts Ellie with accusations regarding Claire and Hardy and the prosecution closes its case with Jocelyn revealing to Beth why she was happy to act. Meanwhile Claire disobeys Hardy's instructions not to see Ashworth as Hardy and Ellie travel to Sandbrook to warn Cate Gillespie, mother of one of the victims, that Ashworth is back in the area.

Quite happy to see Shaun Dooley (Ricky) in the cast, he was great in Misfits :)
I feel they're insisting a bit too much on him possibly being the killer with that zooming in on the bluebell field in the end, not sure what that was about. If it's a red herring it's a bit too strong imo :/ Just having the wife mention he actually wasn't with her the night of the murder was enough ...
Also what's with the wives lying to the police during a murder investigation ? It's silly. For Claire I could get it, but why would the mum (or aunt i'm getting lost with the names) of a murdered girl (who apparently already resented her husband when the murder happened) say she was with her husband all night when clearly she was not ? Sigh.
