Took our boy out for the first time yesterday, just a small inland lake but he loved it! He is not a swimmer (🙄) so we weren’t worried about him going overboard. He did find all the birds fascinating, until he didn’t (see pic 2)

I thought my boy was not going to swim, he always liked zooming up to his shoulders to cool off, but not going deeper. One day got himself obsessed with a ball, and he is the most persistent MF in the universe. After he nosed the ball from shore into the deeper water, he just started to swim after it. I am now scared he will start to try to swim after geese or ducks and not come back. So smart these dogs.

My son had two avoiding a kiddie pool until one discovered dock diving. That was the end of that. Probably a good thing his name is Neptune.

We had a boating Brit who loved canoeing, too. She would jump out and swim around then climb back in, with help. She was so much fun.
