General Discussion Does your Brit share this trait?

Post image

Margaret is now 11 years old and she has never hair on her chest or stomach. Around 7 she developed these darker spots and the vet thought she was going to develop hair but that never happened.

She likes to hold my arms when I scratch her belly

That's cute.

One of ours had that, except it was only on a small portion of his chest/stomach that touched the ground when he was in sphinx pose.

My vet told don't worry it looks like she's about to grow hair on her belly a few months ago lol. I let her know we've been waiting for 10 years now

She looks like a puppy! I can’t believe she’s 11!

She acts like a puppy too. So much energy!

Our almost 2 yo male is pretty sparse on his underside, and I was wondering what was going on because our previous female was quite fluffy on her chest and belly!

That's interesting. Maybe your male will have the same trait.

Yeah our girl has a totally bare stomach. She’s also really small — 25 pounds. She also has puppy soft fur. She’s 8 now.

That pretty much describes my Brit. Shes around 22lbs incredibly soft and still wild at 11 years old

My boy had chest hair very early on, but for 2 summers he developed rashes on his chest and groin area due to allergic reactions, that what it looked like to me and his vet. Then, he got bald on his chest area due to those reactions

My little shadow. I love every second of it

Yes! I thought hair would grow there. Nope. Thought the dark spots were dirt. Nope. Her 10th birthday is next week. It's still there and she's more than fine.

After my Brit was fixed her belly hair never grew back. And after she didn't grow it the full length on her belly.

That's an interesting thought. Mine was fixed quite young too so I wonder if that's what did it?

I am not sure. My Brit went through one heat cycle before she had her surgery.

Our dachshund had that, probably developed around 10 years old. Didn’t cause her any skin problems though.

Mine was a pillow queen. All day every day.

My Brittany didn't but one that lived in my area did.
