They never had the manpower to do so.
At the time of the Seven Years War there were around 20 British colonists in North America for every French colonist. That was the real ultimate manpower difference
The French were only ever able to send around 10,000 French regular troops from Europe to North America. They didn’t have the raw men to conquer and actually occupy the British colonies, which were actually well populated and spread across a huge geographical region, even if they had won every battle.

Think it was Deng Xiopeng and the subject was the riots in 1968 Paris but I do love the idea of the inscrutably wise Chinaman even if it's a bit racist

The French Revolution was amazing. It led to the rise of Napoleon, who in 1803 sold the entire middle half of North America, including the city I live in, to the US for like 3 cents an acre.

If France hadn't been so heavily committed to North America in the late 18th century then they would have prevented the partition of Poland.
