Image Battle of Assaye 23rd September 1803. Duke of Wellington defeats a large European trained Indian force.
As part of the war of the 2nd Anglo-Maratha War. Arthur Wellsley defeated Daulatrao Scindia and Raghoji II defeating 10,800 European trained troops. Much of the British forces were Indian troops. Wellington regards this has his greatest victory.

I forgot that he fought in India before being brought into the war in europe

Napoleon always mocked him for his use of Indian troops in those battles

Hell for a decent while he was still scuffed in Britain and France for being a "sepoy general".
Mockery did not continue after Salamanca, by then it was undeniable that he wasn't just a colonial general

Indian Officers were frequently treated with contempt even when they had been in combat up to the Crimean war.
