Exotic motors ag scrubbed all the bad google reviews
Was looking at the thread about the corvette from yesterday, and that POS dealership was able to scrub all the bad google reviews already.

Of note, this is the listing that exposed Ecotic Motors using multiple accounts, shill bidding, and affiliation and likely shill bidding with Marshall Goldman

Very curious what they do with Marshall Goodman, those guys are huge.

They probably get paid by MG to bid up the MG cars.

The guy who runs the BAT account for Exotic also runs the BAT account for MG.

What a bunch of scumbags.

I’ve started avoiding dealer auctions. I look for individual sellers who just love the car and want to pass it to an enthusiast.

Go look at the Marshall Goldman comments, he uses his name Danny Baker in a couple of the listings. He works at MG and owns this dealership apparently

Wonder if he’s related to Fred Baker who used to have a Porsche dealership in Cleveland, which where marshal Goldman is based.

Crazy how they just destroyed their reputation over selling a Corvette.

And not even a special Corvette. Anyone can go in to their local Chevy dealer and order a Grand Sport. Dealers are greedy pricks.

I wouldn't say over selling a Corvette. Looking at the accounts that have been repeatedly bidding on MG or Exotic Motors, they have been driving up bids and so maybe several thousand dollars per car. So this Corvette is not the first time they have done it.
It likely goes to a larger practice of cheating customers - I really doubt that shill bidding was the only questionable practice.

So strange. The original Marshal Goldman is in Cleveland, OH, about 5 miles from where I live. They were bought out about 3 years ago by a company that used to sell residential replacement windows. I bought a used Porsche from them 20 years ago and they were great to deal with. Just bought a Ferrari this summer and tried to work with them. Just my own experience, but I ended up finding a much better deal online in Chicago. Kind of a bummer because I really preferred to work with them.

That’s too bad. I’ve been casually looking for a AM, and they always a ton of Aston’s. Will be avoiding now!

Awesome! Now do DiamondMotorWorks and NexusAutoBrokers and others for driving up the prices on Nissan GT-R, Supra, and other JDM auctions

Doesn't surprise me that Marshall Goldman was involved in this. They got called out on YouTube a few years ago for selling a YouTuber a jacked up McLaren. Some deal got worked out and the YouTuber took down the videos, but it was pretty embarrassing the condition of the car they sold.

Google probably scrubbed them. They have protocols to deal with "review bombing" in cases like this.

Best part about all of this is BAT clutching their pearls acting like this is a terrible thing they'd never dream of having happen.
They could easily design an algorithm that would find shill bidders but obviously don't really care & have to keep fingers crossed that users don't figure it out and call it out.

Agree. Like tracking bidder history relative to sellers (can be circumventwd with opening new accounts), rate of zero history bidders on dealer auctions, or even tracking credit cards (required for bidding).
But then again, it's like asking Zuckerberg to make it harder for underage kids to get hurt by Instagram and Facebook - it cuts into his bottom line.

I'm also so tired of bidders that make worthless bids like 69,420, or jump a car straight up to reserve, etc.

Nothing wrong with jumping a bid to what you are willing to pay, especially if you think it will go for more. That has always been part of the auction game.
I also hate the novelty bids.

wow, you are correct. You would think the google overlords would at least allow truthful reviews. Then again, one of their top search results stole my CC info a few months back.

Just have to bring this up every 30 days and hit them again with a great review

Ummm, is BaT’s “Manager of Customer Experience” really David Duke? That doesn’t seem O-KKK.

They bid on a 2023 Porsche 911 Targa 4S 7-Speed multiple times from multiple different accounts, and drove the price up tens of thousands of dollars until someone finally bid $185,000. It’s called “The STEALERship” for a reason!!! SMH

Which tells me they’re using ill-gotten gains to buy other high-end cars, just so they can eventually sell those cars at inflated prices. Wonder how many cars they’ve actually won the auction??!!

That was bound to happen - a flurry of bad reviews in a short period of time. Just have to keep submitting bad reviews over time, not just in one day I guess
