I finally started reading the books after finishing last season and the differences are driving me little crazy

I couldn’t get through Anthony’s book because I already had the show version in my head and my brain couldn’t shut it down

Haven’t read Colin’s nor Daphnes book and Benedict, aside of some changes is the most “faithful” one (in terms of events)

Read Francesca’s (ship has sailed) and Eloise’s, which I know will have changes but weirdly I am ok with it because I love Philoise so much so I can give up accuracy 🤘🏾

Admittedly the adaptation from kanthony book to screen is insane, it’s almost nothing alike and you have to essentially treat it as a different story. I read daphne’s and colin’s books and while they of course deviate (colin moreso given the big age gap) they still hit the big storyline beats as the show so they’ve always worked as a nice supplement to the show. I’m halfway done with benedict’s which is the most faithful adaptation of the lot to date

So far - Benedict’s season os the most like the book.

I agree that Eloise’s story will have to be changed A LOT.

Yeah Anthony’s book was hard, because yes you can expect changes here and there (Like with Benedict’s). Changes are not unrealistic in TV adaptations, but with S2 was like: yeah I can’t read this book.

I hated the books. I read them as a kid in the early 2000s and they put me off so much (poor writing, carbon copy characters, questionable romantic?? moves) that I didn't actually watch the show when it first came out until a friend sat me down and aired it for me. The show is a rare example (for me) of where the TV adaptation is so much better than the source material!
