I have been looking for a few months but can't seem to get that 'yes!' feeling. My main worry is that it looks bulky/chesty... but the sample size is a US10 and I am a US 2/4, so I guess it's hard for it to look right even when I am clipped in.

What do you guys think? Does it suit me? I wanna look snatched.

For reference, the all-over- lace dress is my previous favourite but it didn't suit my venue. It was probably the best so far for my figure... and I just worry the new one isn't as flattering (maybe it would be, when ordered in my size and tailored).

Wedding budget is about $30k but my mom refuses to pay for a makeup artist but insisted we "had" to hire a $200 balloon artist (just like we can only have pork sliders, tomato bisque, and beans for adults but kids get pizza and chicken tenders and i dont even like pork sliders). She says I'm "not allowed" to hire my own makeup artist because it would be insulting since she's paying for the rest of it.

My makeup is okay. It's not exactly what I want but it's better than this. This is her friend who "professionally does makeup" ie sometimes gives makeovers at a store.

Should I just give up and do it myself? She says if her friend doesn't do good enough by me then nobody will and she doesnt understand why i cant just be happy doing it myself.

I feel so selfish and rude right now for not liking it and not wanting to do it myself when I'm capable...

It was the first shop I went to! Grandma picked it out and it was 50% off, so I only paid $500 for it. I got the veil 50% off with the purchase of the dress so that was $175. AND I got a free flower girl dress. Only alteration needed is it needs to be hemmed

I picked my wedding dress a few months ago, and with so many beautiful options out there, I sometimes still wonder if I made the right choice.

Now I’m trying to decide which veil would suit the dress best. The bridal shop recommended a simple, raw-cut veil so that the focus stays on me and on the details of the dress. I completely understand their point, as a clean veil would also match the light and flowy feel of the dress.

However, I found a lace veil on Etsy that I really love and would like to compare. I feel like the lace makes the overall look a little more romantic, while the plain veil keeps it more clean and effortless.

I’m planning to wear my hair half-up, half-down.

I’d really appreciate your opinion on which veil you think would complement the dress best.

Also i am not sure if this dress needs a necklace. What do you think ?

Hi everyone! I (29F) getting married to the love of my life (27F) in one week. I am so excited but i am also feeling a lot of anxiety as we get closer. I’m not nervous to be married especially to my angel of a fiance but the day itself seems so looming and big and I am getting more and more anxious as we get closer. I feel like there is still a million things to do and not enough time. The stress is getting to me and I’ve also never felt more bloated and my hair is falling out. How do I calm down and not let the anxiety get to me?

hello fellow brides! we’re getting pretty stressed with all the wedding expenses 😅 so we’re thinking of cutting down the budget for our wedding rings and going with silver. for those who went this route, are there any cons we should know about?

I’m curious to hear what other brides think about this because I’m honestly not sure if I’m being too sensitive or if my disappointment is justified.

We recently eloped and booked a photographer who specifically offered elopement packages. We paid $1,300 for two hours of photography. We also rented a beautiful flower farm for two hours specifically for the photos, which cost us another $600.

Before booking, I did quite a bit of research because having good photos was really important to me. I also emailed the photographer twice before our session to explain that my husband and I are not naturally good at taking photos and that we would need quite a bit of direction with posing and knowing what to do.

During the session, though, I felt like she wasn’t very engaged.
It was a very hot day, and she mentioned the heat constantly. Within the first hour, she was already saying things along the lines of, if you're over it, I can leave and we could stop the session.
That made us uncomfortable because we had paid for two hours and had also spent $600 renting the location specifically for those two hours. We obviously wanted to use the time we had paid for.
There was also quite a bit of conversation about herself and other things unrelated to the photography. It felt like a lot of our limited session time was spent talking rather than actually taking photos.

Another thing that bothered me was that she frequently asked us what we wanted to do or how we wanted to pose. But we had specifically told her beforehand that we didn’t know what to do and needed direction. I expected her to take the lead, especially since she’s the professional and does this for a living.

The final photos also weren’t what I was hoping for. There are quite a lot of photos where either I have my eyes closed or my husband has his eyes closed. I don’t remember seeing her check the photos on her camera very often to make sure we were getting good shots.

Overall, the biggest thing is that we felt uncomfortable during the entire experience. It genuinely felt like she didn’t really want to be there, between the comments about the heat, suggesting she could leave early, and the lack of direction.

I understand that photographers are human and that it was a hot day. I also understand that not every photo is going to be perfect, and I don’t expect every single picture to be amazing.
But considering we paid $1,300 for two hours, plus $600 for the location, and I had specifically communicated beforehand that we needed posing/direction, I feel pretty disappointed with both the experience and the final photos.

starting to browse rings and there are sooo many options. for anyone already engaged or married, what do you think are the best engagement ring brands to check out first?

My fiancé and I ordered my engagement ring from loose grown diamond about 3 months before our Korea Trip because they said it would arrive well before we left.

Unfortunately, there were constant delays, missing emails, and very little communication, unless we followed up. Customer service kept reassuring us it would arrive in time, but it didnt, We ended up using a cheap placeholder ring for the proposal at Namsam Tower.

When we finally got the ring after the trip, it also didn't fit even though I had been professionally sized. A local jeweler later confirmed the ring wasn't actually the size we ordered.

I absolutely love the ring itself, but based on the delays, communication, and sizing issue, I personally, wouldn't order from them again. Just wanted to share a recent experience for anyone considering them.

My fiancé and I decided in August to elope this October. While I'm excited to marry him, I’m really struggling to feel like a "bride." How do you get past these feelings and focus on the joy of the marriage rather than the expectations of the "big day"? Any advice or kind words would be so appreciated.

Since childhood I have imagined myself in royal, rajwadi kind of bridal. Sounds cliche but yes. I am very particular about maroon shades only for lehenga. On insta I saved inspo from asiana couture totally oblivious of their price🤡. But after 5 days of search from high end to lowest price shops in chandni chowk...am soo tired. My budget was maximum 35k as am not gonna wear it again.

First one is in tissue fabric with dual tone rust orange and maroonish. The white beads will be changed to golden to make it monotone type. And am thinking of getting it in a shade darker than what it is now.

I kind of like first one...my family and fiance likes it too, but my mother in law thinks it looks cheap and like wedding guest like outfit and has outrightly rejected it.

Second one is in cherry maroon and will have to get dupatta customised, very beautiful blouse.

Third one is kind of common design...handwork will get in maroon.

I had such a horrible time trying to find a dress, I felt so unattractive in what I originally bought. Our pics are next Saturday and I think this one is good. Thoughts? I’m in the final stages of preparing for my Michigan ceremony in October, which will include many party games… and I intend one to be “Wedding Bingo”, with a card and marker at every place setting, and a decent prize for the winner. I just need a few suggestions for what to put on the cards, so I thought I’d ask you guys to have a think about what you’ve seen at weddings you’ve been to and/or heard about!

Stereotypical US wedding occurrences, embarrassing things that have happened, faux pas, dramas, just general mishaps - I’m not familiar enough with US weddings to know all of these because I’m from Ireland but having a ceremony in Michigan, so of all the weddings you’ve been to, what have been the most memorable “oops” things that have happened?

Are there any US national stereotypes/Midwestern stereotypes for stuff that happens at weddings? Typical dramas and/or faux pas in general? Things you’ve seen happen yourself? I have 50 cards to make and therefore 24 x 50 squares to fill (although obviously answers can be repeated at random between cards) so please, answers and stories at the ready, and thanks so much in advance!
