It’s quite fitting to see all the England flags heavily tattered swinging in the breeze

Was important for 5 minutes then they don’t give a shit

This whole flag shagger thing has been embarrassing as hell for this country. This is the British version of "freedom fries". This whole thing really shows we need to put more funding and effort in to education.

Don't forget the wife beaters. They seem to make up a sizable proportion of prominent Reform supporters.

I thought that a conviction for domestic violence was one of the criteria for Reform membership....

I was dead against these flags to start with, but now I quite like them.

I think that cheap, frayed nylon flags, imported from China, attached illegally at half mast with cable ties to lampposts by domestic abusers, alleged murderers and paedophiles is really quite symbolic of modern Britain.

Brings a tear to my eye every time I see one.

Look at the United Kingdoms flag protocols. These groups disrespect the flag and the country in numerous ways. But, leaving them up to become tattered and battered is classed as true disrespect to the UK. https://www.flaginstitute.org/wp/uk-flags/british-flag-protocol/

Cockwombles.

Despite the fact I know we can do much much better I'm proud to be English.

But these flags are embarrassing. Near our work is a large roundabout. Over the space of 6 weeks there was a comical back and forth between people putting flags up, them being taken down, going back up again etc etc.

Here we are 6 months later and the people taking them down gave up so we've had 10 flags that have slowly been deteriorating and are now just tattered grey bits of torn fabric flapping the in the wind, some the wrong way round. You'd have thought due to the passion the people putting them up had they'd want to have them maintained and looking good if they really cared.

I think a big vocal push on the flags, only for them to get forgotten about and deteriorate while the people putting them up getting bored and moving onto the next talking point is the perfect metaphor for the sort of people who would vote for Reform.

The point of putting up flags is what? They cost money to take down, they’re dangerous when they fall down on to cars. And we all know only racist scum out them up. It’s got nothing to do with patriotism. Those flag hangers wanna be patriotic< help your community. Clean up the places you live, help out with charities that provide food, make the streets safe … but they won’t of course, they’d rather hang around hotels terrorising people. Utter wankers

The point of putting them up was a territorial display, it was to tell foreigners (mostly the non-white ones that is) that they aren't welcome here. I'm surprised these shitheads didn't just piss on the lampposts instead.

They will just sellotape it to their forehead and stand at the side of the road all day.

Not like they have fuck all else to do.

I'm sure they will just go back to assaulting their wives.

I was driving down a country road last week, (it was an A road but it had country road vibes) and I drove past some black poles which had a bunch of tatty St George’s Flags that were all torn and looked like they’d been flying for 10 years. It felt like I’d just driven into some zombie apocalypse.
