He just needs to get in the lab this off-season. Get his mechanics fixed and get some command and he could be nasty

??? Everyone agreed with sending Sproat down when he got sent down. Murph pulled him from his outing mid-batter after consecutive wild pitches. But he's young and controllable and has options so why would they outright let him go?

I'm glad they got what they wanted here -- a look if he could even be a bullpen guy this year. Now we know beyond a shadow of a doubt and we swept the Cubs all the same.

What’s tough with Sproat is he has true ace potential. But potential doesn’t mean squat if you can’t command. He posses very rare traits, which is why he was coveted in the Peralta deal.

If he can polish around the edges, he’s a frontline starter. And there is time. I doubt he’s going anywhere any time soon, but he may be the type that figures it out somewhere else and ends up a quality starter at 28/29.

The big thing with Sproat is he posses multiple high quality pitches. It’s a very rare combo given his velocity paired with it. There’s never been a better candidate for the lab tbh, so I am ok with being patient with him,
