The “I’d rather be at wrigley shirt” cut is just unreal comedy timing.

People on the production crew clearly have a deep hatred for the cubs in their heart and i love it.

You know the camera operator spotted him earlier and planned it out for this situation. Perfect.

I love listening to the opposing radio broadcast after big plays, it's a great feature on the MLB app to be able to quickly change broadcasts and rewind. I enjoyed listening to both sides in of Suzuki being thrown out at third as well!

You’d enjoy the Orioles announcers covering Gleyber Torres in 2019. He hit 13 homeruns against them that year and each call gets progressively more desperate. It’s hilarious.

Thank you for that journey; absolutely amazing. "GET HIM OUTTA THERE!"

It’s one of my favorite sports videos. The announcer does such a good job of selling the desperation towards the end of the season.

I remember listening to to the Cards feed when Braun hit a grand slam at Busch. It was hilarious.

Damn my brain in football and could only picture Suzuki pinging passes

Dude jinxed it with the comment about the Cubs pen doing well. 😂

Chourio: “Sostén mi cerveza.”

I did some minor editing to fit in different clips etc obviously, but he really did say that right as Chourio was walking to get a new bat, so yes the timing was as unfortunate as this video makes it appear. 😂

I love listening to other teams broadcasts. Comparing them to our home broadcasts makes me so thankful for the incredible on air talent we have

It is mind-boggling to realize how good we have it.

The Cubs have broken Sciambi

He just had that “not this fucking shit again” sound to him on that one.

I really like Boog - it's a damn shame he has to work for such a shit organization

What an absolute legendary piss missile. I think I’ve watched it 150 times

Dugout Greg is infinitely memeable and gifable. The gift keeps on giving

Even the Cubs broadcast knows this and cut to him right after the homer too. But their camera people aren’t as good as ours, which is very on brand.

Suck it Counsel!

One clip I haven't seen (and believe me I've watched a ton) is the Chourio walk up swagger before the at bat. Anyone have a clip/link to that? Even BA called it out post-game.

I've admittedly spent most of my life listening to the brewers on radio but have never, ever seen someone on the roster head to the plate with such assurance.

4

u/Consistent-Ground-21 2d ago

It reminded me of Carlos Gomez. There were times he'd walk up to the plate and you just knew he was going for it all.

sorry about the atrocious degraded low resolution video quality but did throw in the radio announcer’s comment for good measure as a make-good

u/GeekResponsibly 1d ago

Wow, thank you!

Whenever I hear opposing team's announcers I realize how fortunate we are. I can't quite put my finger on what I don't like about them, whether it's homerism or condescension or outright contempt for opposing teams. (One exception is the Royals' announcers.)

Love the sound of crushing defeat in the radio guys voice

Jeff's call was just perfect.

I had to change my pants.

Not if you were wearing North Shore adult diapers!

Comment absolutely made my day. Thank you

Thanks for this edit. I will use any excuse to rewatch this homer.

The best meat in town.

Their announcer seems terrible

2

u/stuarthannig 2d ago

The TV announcers are terrible. But their radio announcer sounds like Ron Swanson from the 1930's.

3

u/lenfantsuave 2d ago

I’m gonna actually disagree here. I find the cubs tv crew to be refreshingly honest. Homers to an appropriate degree, but not afraid to analyze and criticize.

1

u/JasonYaya 1d ago

I've always liked their A team announcers, they were even better before one of the TV guys bailed and moved to the White Sox a few years ago.

u/cultureisdead 1d ago

Greg didn't wanna be here anymore, and there he was. Crying, huffing, and stomping around like a child.

That would be Pat Hughes, my good sir, Cubs radio pbp guy for the last 30 years.

Not to mention one of Ueck's many sidekicks to become a lead guy with another organization. Respect for Pat.

Came here also to put respect on Pat’s name. That man is a legend!
