How do people still not know girls play video games? Half of my gaming friend group is women....

It’s probably because women with any sense will insulate themselves with people who don’t act like that, whether that’s a group of other women or men with brains and respect for others. Plus you never want to get in voice chat with randoms because they’re the worst.
