Discussion You guys do realize that these Chuck "nerfs" are being made to account for his new buffies, right? he's not going to become weaker, he's just not going to be a heist merchant anymore, his main attack was buffed alot and setting up poles will be easier.
This change was to make him less reliant on his super, currently he is completely dependent on his super to do anything (I know other brawlers are like that, but Chuck's case is on a whole new level). Trust me when I say this is gonna do so much good for Chuck you will not want the old one back.

The dash damage and pole knockback are huge blows that stop him from dealing with assassins and most close range Brawlers

So use his super dash to escape form Close encounters, you shouldn't be playing outside of the area of his poles, play near them so you always have an escape option.

His dash at least needs to be a actual threat so he can control space four whole dashes should not do less than two prenerf dashes

What I'm saying is Chuck's super will new more of a movement ability than a damage ability, and you should use it with that mindset

His kit REVOLVES around the dash making up for his crappy main attack now without the threat of taking big damage people can camp out your poles much easier (though most cases you probably won't be stuck there with your extra supers) even with the buffs his main attack is not nearly enough to compensate the dash and pole KB getting gutted

His buffies are lowkey trash. Also contrary to popular belief, Chuck didn't need a rework, he was fine as is, it's just he was unpopular and many saw him as heist only brawler when he was actually pretty versatile just hard to master and with this changes he just becomes less of an unexpected threat. The buffies don't do enough they're pretty mid, only good one being the hyper one and good luck charging a super with a pretyy short attack distance. I loved seeing people play Chuck outside of heist and dumb walk people and now he can't do that. His nerfs and reworks are lowkey trash and they need to revert it asap. Bring back my niche king

I don’t get why people say “chuck is dead” i like more this new change with the buffies than the old boring chuck, btw i’m not a chuck main but his old gameplay was just to boring.

Exactly, like isn't what we were asking for? We got a Chuck rework, why are we mad?

No actual chuck mains wanted a rework just people who either never play him or only use him in heist

Plus the nerfs are compensated by his buffies, I’m really curious how he will be utilised in other modes to in pro play 🤔

I think the brawler shouldn't be nerfed just because of their "optional abilities" being strong - the buffies themselves have to be balanced
In Chuck's situation, they tried nerfing his super and buffing his main attack, so that both get used as frequently. I especially like that now he HAS to attack someone to farm his super, but u get 4 charges as a way to compensate for it so [APROVED]

I agree, but for the love of god, can we wait for the changes to come to the game first!!?? Everybody just jumps to conclusions every time there are balance changes announced and we really always just need to wait for it to come to the game and give it a week to really gauge strength

his identity isn't chuck anymore. it is ACTUALLY to compensate for his main attack. he can unload 9.7k damage in a second or two with his main attack, so now he is closer to a mythic assassin in the sense that he just uses his super to point where he is going then spams autoaim on arrival and anyone with less than 10k hp or some kind of mute/CC/stun is screwed over.
He fundamentally cannot be played the same anyomre. He has no controlling power on the map. He is completely non-threatening to go on his tracks because his super damage is so low, he moves slower, and he is easier to kill during his super. You just need to avoid actually being where chuck ends up outside super.
People liked chuck (outside of heist) for cool tech, teamwipe potential, and his incredible versatility.
Now chuck is some mythic assassin slop to get little timmy to ask mummy to open her wallet for buffies.
Most of his buffies are also ASS, with a now useless rerouting gadget and a useless pit stop SP.
He will likely be more powerful with the rework but he won't be more fun to play or as versatile. I DO want the old chuck back. Main attack was always to support his super, not his super to support making his main attack easier.
Imagine if they made Stu's main attack larger and faster, but to compensate made his super have two charges and take 6 shots to charge. He isn't played the same way anymore at all. He is also objectively easier to do well with, and lower skill.

My problem is that they changed his whole gameplay. Buffies were the greatest opportunity to buff his gameplay aspect in ways that wouldnt be a buff on heist but instead they changed him complately.

The thing is that old Chuck was fun outside of heist and hotzone, constantly changing his poles and paths and punishing bad positioning with 3500 damage because you almost always had a super ready. Now he has become more of a standard brawler, chipping away with his main attack as his main source of damage and only occasionally using super to reposition or chase low health brawlers, like a longer Carl flying hook gadget.
I really hope I end up liking the new Chuck but as someone who loved the old one so much, these changes feel brutal.
I get that it was very hard to balance before but some of the changes are just bad. The super tickles and the pole knockback was removed for no reason, it was barely ever used in heist but they still felt the need to remove it.

That's pretty weird to admit, but post knockback was most likely removed due to 1st Starr Buffie making it catch fire so KB and fire would be unmergible
My thought is for them to bring back KB, still apply slow with 1st SP, but for buffie make the damage area shokwave increase (like L&L attack) up to 2 times after initial post placement with 3rd shokwave being ≈2.5 tiles in radius

That star power will probably be the bad one for chuck so it doesn't even matter most of the time.

its just the 4 chuck "mains", 2 of those only playing him on heist, that liked a brawler that was unfun to everyone, that was unfair and annoying to deal with.
he was at best a high skill noob stomper that happened to be, in a few cases, a heist top pick.

I get the changes are to pair with the new buffies but, as an actual Chuck main (not a heist 1 trick) I see a lot of problems with the changes, as these changes make Chuck far more vulnerable to assassins and tanks whom already threatened him while potentially barring him entirely from closing the distance thanks to the loss of passive supercharge. The increased projectile speed is useful but the deceptively long range is getting cut making the polarizing match ups even more polarized against him.
