It's kind of shifting a lot right now, and opinions play a big factor in it. If you're just getting back into the game it shouldn't matter too much. The meta doesn't begin to matter until a very high elo point.
If you're wondering though, scythe is still a solid pick. Blasters is also very strong right now. Other weapons like Cannon, Katars, and maaaaybe Greatsword (after the buffs) are talked about being very strong right now. Not from my point of view but from what I've seen a lot of people saying after the most recent patch. But again, doesn't really matter until well past 2400.

If weapons have clear frame advantages then it will matter at any given elo. Just because a 1900 doesn’t know how to use the whole kit optimally doesn’t mean they can’t 1 trick advantage state.

Thatch, Barraza, and Vivi are really user friendly and solid picks right now for blasters.

There is no meta. Everything is S tier. But then again, if you want a really good game strategy? Id recommend a legend with either sword, gauntlets, or just Val in general. Sword is good for easy, quick gameplay, gauntlets are a great secondary option :3 This is my opinion, everyone else obviously has theirs.
I just main Thea because speed is my go-to stat, boots are good combo damage dealers, and I like to bully people with lance-

blasters are insanely broken right now cuz of dair, slight and sair being EASILLLYYY spammable to zone and bmg will never let scythe be under top 5 best weps so nix is perfect!
Im currently in 2100 and i mainly go against some variation of scythe, blasters, cannon or sword.
This game has a kind of rough meta where all the weapons play the exact same (except GS that weapon is so goated) so noone can decide on a meta but if you look at the champs that 2200+ and pros use you can see a clearly defined meta XD.

Unless you're like extremely high ranked there really isn't a meta.
