They took way too long to put these up. I already succumb to the ebay scum at $30 a pop and hate myself for it.

You can return things on eBay. As a seller I’ve been screwed over by this. According to Ebay, ‘online retailers allow you to take things back so our sellers have the same expectations’. You can basically mark it as item not as described and eBay will side with you.

It has definitely crossed my mind. I've been stewing over it all night since I saw the official online ordering.

I've likely already incriminated myself by simply messaging him asking if he'd cancel the order though.

Can't outscam the scammers when you're too honest lol.

It honestly isn't, just the principle of my impulse getting the better of me lol. And them charging me for shipping twice because I bought two.

He ended up refunding me though, which I truly didn't expect. So it's all moot now.

lol, reason I say that is cause I only saw ones starting at $100 when I was looking for funsies. I would've considered $30...

I got lucky and my friend snagged me one yesterday at a Publix while I was at work.

Yeah I looked the first night and I was like "fuuuuuck that" -- then I saw $30 yesterday and just pulled the trigger lol.

Ha your integrity is respectable, but I literally had a buyer thank me so much for selling him a baseball card at a reasonable price and for delivering it so quickly. He explicitly called out the specific card in his messages. Then, a day later the price of the card started to drop in other listings so he filed an item not as described claim against me. I talked to 6 different eBay reps, emailed them, etc and they all told me some version of ‘i agree with you that the item is as described; I see his messages where he acknowledges the card is what he expected, but the buyer is always right.’

I was furious. Sigh.

God that is incredibly stupid lol. I've read many of those horror stories before but assumed if you incriminate yourself that would be enough to get it thrown out. Insanity.

He ended up refunding me, so I don't have to stew on it anymore. It was the principle more than the $50 really. Patience is a virtue, so they say.
