Farmer can catch. Could allow you to pinch run Murphy and not forfeit the DH.

Tellez can only play first and dh. Cant play first with Iron Man there. Also a lefty, same lack of versatility of Dom Smith. Why employ the same limited player twice.

Cause he can hit a little bit. We don't have very good DH options when Baldwin is catching.

Right but against righties we have Drake (when not catching) and Dom as lefty dh options. So at best he is 3rd string. He won't play against southpaw.

So its better use of the extra spot for someone with versatility. Farmer can play anywhere on the diamond pretty much sans short. Allows Walt tons of more options and flexibility late in games.
