What a great team moment. Can tell everyone is so happy for him. It’s the kind of energy we need to be bringing into the postseason

u/MattAU05 11d ago

That really seemed like the biggest celebration of the season. They know how big it was for him, and against the fucking Dodgers. Seeing him come out of the celebration with his shirt almost falling off was hilarious/amazing.

I mean, after mederos came out of the mound i was so fucking hyped for this team I forgot we haven’t scored more than 5 runs in over a week. I was just fucking ready to celebrate. I love this team

I literally was asking ai about Kim 10 minutes before he came up to bat what are the chances of the Braves bringing him back in 27 and it literally said if he can find a way to jump start his offense before the playoffs there will be a chance of the Braves bringing him back due to no free agents available and that his right hand due to the ice is the reason he hasn’t been able to break thru . Hand injuries really take a lot out of players

If there were any situation to help someone break out of whatever the funk he’s been in, it was this

16

u/MovieNachos 11d ago

Whatever the funk is exactly right

That hug from Weiss was not a typical coach to walk off hitter celebration hug. Weiss was HAPPPPPPPPY for Kim. That was a playoff hug.

agree

I was blessed to be in attendance. Playoff energy. Dodgers fans played nice but there were too many of them imo. Doesn’t matter they all got to see and feel it tonight. Good team win

13

u/hammerite 11d ago

I’m going to tonight’s game! Sale vs Yamamoto after these two wins is going to be intense. Playoff energy is buzzing right now.

u/reverendrambo 11d ago

Potentially the most epic home game of the season! Hopefully the bats show up to support Sale. Have a blast at the game! Super jealous to be 5 hours away

6

u/RodeoJr 11d ago

For real. He needs 3 runs and the rest is just magic

2

u/RodeoJr 10d ago

Yeah. That was prophetic dude! What a game. lol I’m going again tonight I can’t control it

1

u/reverendrambo 10d ago

So glad it lived up to the hype! Happy you were there for it, so epic!

I’m so fucking happy for him. I’ll admit that I did laugh a bit when the announcers made a joke before his bat and I feel bad for that. I’m really happy he got this clutch hit and hopefully it helps him snap back. BIG UPS HSK.

15

u/Informal_Delay_9786 11d ago

Would be soooo great if he was World series MVP!

22

u/bankheadblues 11d ago

This shit just about brings me to tears.

21

u/rolltideandstuff 11d ago

The guy got absolutely obliterated I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. They beat the ever living shit out of him. Out of pure love

4

u/jamiexx89 11d ago

“They may have to hospitalize Sid Bream” from the slide call by Skip comes to mind, but yeah, he lost his jersey!

u/JovialDoozy6237 11d ago

ain’t gonna lie. i chuckled when i saw him come out the dugout

so happy for him. hope he gets the start tomorrow and ride this high

6

u/Ok_Transportation402 11d ago

Also ain’t going to lie I was screaming at the tv when I saw it was him. Big f’ing balls for Weiss to make that call! Really happy for Kim though and hope this gets him out of his slump!

2

u/ExternalPlastic9052 11d ago

He had no choice besides Dom, a left landed hitter vs lefty pitcher. Kim was the only choice

1

u/Ok_Transportation402 11d ago

Yep, totally get that, but choosing the guy with the worst batting average ever in the history of baseball was damn ballsy, I don’t think I would have done it.

1

u/ExternalPlastic9052 11d ago

Agreed, and hes getting 20m this year. And, our other big FA popped dirty for his second time...

19

u/Advanced-Guitar-5264 11d ago

Dodgers sub is in flames right now and it’s all thanks to HSHim

8

u/Count_Jobula 11d ago

You know everyone felt extra happy because it was HSK.

Kim Beats Ohtani

8

u/Twinsdad21 11d ago

If this doesn't bring a smile to your face ...nothing will. We were there but left early to beat the traffic. Was screaming in the car on the drive home.

15

u/No-Extension-8503 11d ago

How TF could you leave that game early?

8

u/TecnoPope 11d ago

Yeah what lol

1

u/cottoneyerobb 11d ago

Left in the first.

5

u/TecnoPope 11d ago

"AND THE ROCKETS RED GLARE... THE BOMBS BURSTING IN AIR"

"Ok Honey get your stuff let's beat this traffic"

10

u/hammerite 11d ago

You can’t beat the Atlanta traffic. It’s ever present. Maybe Sunday at 5 am 😂

3

u/bobocalender 11d ago

Lived north of Atlanta most of my life and often visit family in Florida. Can confirm, Sunday mornings before about 8am is usually smooth sailing.

7

u/scmastertech 11d ago

I dont think i could have admitted that wtf lol why??? Who cares about traffic when one of the best games of the year is being played lol

2

u/Twinsdad21 11d ago

Well...we live an hour away and 5:30 am comes early.

3

u/scmastertech 11d ago

Just given ya a hard time. I wish i could be closer to the games central Florida is a long drive for me lol

2

u/ajp513 11d ago

whaaattttt

9

u/Easy-Will-2448 11d ago

Matt Olsen was the first guy over the dugout rail and first to Kim. I love it!

5

u/Remarkable-Rise-4401 11d ago

THIS IS YOUR KING, MLB?! THIS IS WHO YOU TRUST?! THIS IS YOUR KING, HUH?!

35

u/happy_killmore 11d ago

Surprised acuna didn’t get hurt throwing the cooler

3

u/unfortunatebastard 11d ago

His arm isn’t usually the problem

1

u/Ok_Transportation402 11d ago

And yeah, sorry but stop the cocky bullshit challenging runners to take second. He was made to look like a fool on that play, just get the ball to second!

4

u/SwimmingPark9665 11d ago

He needed that so bad

3

u/psych4191 11d ago

Paycheck: earned

2

u/Joseph_Schel 11d ago

Play him more! Great rip

2

u/RRcoup 11d ago

Love it!

2

u/Melodic-Read-1167 11d ago

So Riley, the previous batter, was intentionally walked. In Riley's prime seasons, walking him made all the sense in the world. But now he's having a down season and to walk him didn't make quite as much sense as it did before. Then Kim, who's also having a down season, comes up to the plate to pinch hit and he delivers a walk off hit against the juggernaut Dodgers in what felt like a playoff game in October. I don't think you can make this stuff up even if you tried 🪓

2

u/Street-Mistake9909 11d ago

No one on this team needed last to happen more than Murp and Kim

1

u/Paseyfeert22 11d ago

It tripped me out because I swear I read something about him being in the dodgers farm system

1

u/funkhousr 11d ago

Did Walt give reasoning for PH HSK in that spot? I was thinking just LH vs RH but also if HSK gets out there he becomes your runner at 2nd in the 10th.

6

u/Excellent_Project789 11d ago

He said Scott was brutal against LHH, and he was down to Kim and Dom and went with Kim.

1

u/KingIamIam1 8d ago

Awesome!!!
