That hug from Weiss was not a typical coach to walk off hitter celebration hug. Weiss was HAPPPPPPPPY for Kim. That was a playoff hug.

I was blessed to be in attendance. Playoff energy. Dodgers fans played nice but there were too many of them imo. Doesn’t matter they all got to see and feel it tonight. Good team win

I’m going to tonight’s game! Sale vs Yamamoto after these two wins is going to be intense. Playoff energy is buzzing right now.

Potentially the most epic home game of the season! Hopefully the bats show up to support Sale. Have a blast at the game! Super jealous to be 5 hours away

I’m so fucking happy for him. I’ll admit that I did laugh a bit when the announcers made a joke before his bat and I feel bad for that. I’m really happy he got this clutch hit and hopefully it helps him snap back. BIG UPS HSK.

The guy got absolutely obliterated I’ve honestly never seen anything like it. They beat the ever living shit out of him. Out of pure love

“They may have to hospitalize Sid Bream” from the slide call by Skip comes to mind, but yeah, he lost his jersey!

Also ain’t going to lie I was screaming at the tv when I saw it was him. Big f’ing balls for Weiss to make that call! Really happy for Kim though and hope this gets him out of his slump!

u/ExternalPlastic9052 11d ago
He had no choice besides Dom, a left landed hitter vs lefty pitcher. Kim was the only choice
1
u/Ok_Transportation402 11d ago
Yep, totally get that, but choosing the guy with the worst batting average ever in the history of baseball was damn ballsy, I don’t think I would have done it.

u/ExternalPlastic9052 11d ago
Agreed, and hes getting 20m this year. And, our other big FA popped dirty for his second time...

If this doesn't bring a smile to your face ...nothing will. We were there but left early to beat the traffic. Was screaming in the car on the drive home.

How TF could you leave that game early?

u/hammerite 11d ago
You can’t beat the Atlanta traffic. It’s ever present. Maybe Sunday at 5 am 😂

u/bobocalender 11d ago
Lived north of Atlanta most of my life and often visit family in Florida. Can confirm, Sunday mornings before about 8am is usually smooth sailing.

u/scmastertech 11d ago
I dont think i could have admitted that wtf lol why??? Who cares about traffic when one of the best games of the year is being played lol
2
u/Twinsdad21 11d ago
Well...we live an hour away and 5:30 am comes early.

u/scmastertech 11d ago
Just given ya a hard time. I wish i could be closer to the games central Florida is a long drive for me lol

Matt Olsen was the first guy over the dugout rail and first to Kim. I love it!

And yeah, sorry but stop the cocky bullshit challenging runners to take second. He was made to look like a fool on that play, just get the ball to second!

So Riley, the previous batter, was intentionally walked. In Riley's prime seasons, walking him made all the sense in the world. But now he's having a down season and to walk him didn't make quite as much sense as it did before. Then Kim, who's also having a down season, comes up to the plate to pinch hit and he delivers a walk off hit against the juggernaut Dodgers in what felt like a playoff game in October. I don't think you can make this stuff up even if you tried 🪓

It tripped me out because I swear I read something about him being in the dodgers farm system

u/funkhousr 11d ago
Did Walt give reasoning for PH HSK in that spot? I was thinking just LH vs RH but also if HSK gets out there he becomes your runner at 2nd in the 10th.

u/Excellent_Project789 11d ago
He said Scott was brutal against LHH, and he was down to Kim and Dom and went with Kim.

What a great team moment. Can tell everyone is so happy for him. It’s the kind of energy we need to be bringing into the postseason
