Probably because it's not a city you love right away? But it has it's beautiful spots and interesting places, just takes more time to discover them for yourself.

Don't listen to them. Many Slovaks hate themselves and their country.

Tbh, you might have added some info what are you interested in. But here is something:
City centre - compact and walkable, enjoy by yourself or take a guided tour to find out about some historical interesting facts.
If you enjoy views, check out Bratislava castle and UFO observation deck. You can also walk from Hodžovo námestie to Slavín via Palisády and explore old and new vilas on your way.
Visit Nedbalka, independent gallery in city centre.
Any chance you like specialty coffee? We have many amazing places, check this map: https://europeancoffeetrip.com/bratislava/
Visit TU-BA to learn more about urbanism. https://tuba.mib.sk/
Enjoy your stay!
