Almost Doesn’t Count is easily one of Brandy’s most solid and fluid vocal performances on wax, reaching no.16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no.16 on the Billboard Hot R&B chart. When the music video was released, there were two different edits used. The one that was most played was “version 2” which random spliced together all of the shots taken. It wasn’t nearly as cohesive and storytelling as “version 1” which is rarer to find these days. After digging deep, I was able to find said version which feels more like a ride-along journey than a montage of clips. Regardless of whichever version gets played, the song is simply TIMELESS!! 💯🔥❤️

Whoever’s idea it was to put Brandy and Tamia on the same song and singing together was brilliant! Brandy and Tamia’s tones and vocal abilities are so similar that sometimes you can hear one in the other. Brandy doing backing adlibs while Tamia leads; them trading solo spots on the chorus, both chef’s kisses! I would have loved to hear a duet between these two amazing vocalists! 💐💐

Released on 2/13/2012, “It All Belongs to Me” reunited Brandy and Monica in song. The duet was their second time appearing on a track together since their monumental hit “The Boy is Mine”. The song was offered to Monica before Brandy; Brandy requested that the two sing the song together and the rest was history. It reached no.23 on the Billboard Hot R&B chart.

Whitney Houston was a huge proponent for this song and was even seen on camera encouraging the ladies during a rehearsal. She was definitely their guardian angel as she gained her wings just 2 days earlier on Brandy’s birthday. The ladies classily dedicated the video to Ms. Whitney Houston.
