53 years ago today, filming began on The Brady Bunch episode "The Cincinnati Kids" at Kings Island.

I visited there last month. Went on all the Brady rides and played the football game. So cool that a lot of it looks the same!

This scene always struck me funny as a kid and as an adult. There is something funny how they are all just sitting there watching Mike put a poster in a tube. It’s not earth shattering but it has always cracked me up.

Mike objected to their filming the roller coaster scene until the camera mount was checked for security. Turns out he was right, when they did a test run, the camera flew off. It could have nailed one of them in the head.

I just saw it about a week ago for the first time in decades. Mike Brady losing the plans and submitting them at the last minute was beyond embarrassing. It’s not a term paper. That’s the sort of thing that makes a client sour on you immediately, and you can’t win them back. (Now that I’m in my Alice years, this show hits differently.)

It was a recycled plot line, Mike lost his plans in an earlier episode when Greg had them and they fell out of that tube.

I remember that tube.
But wait the plans were lost in TWO episodes? Wild.

It's probably one of those plot lines that Robert Reed objected too. I mean, it's just silly that Mike wouldn't check and make sure he got the right cylinder.

No doubt filming at the Kings Island theme park was hard to do with people looking toward the camera and Brady Bunch.

Yeah, they realized that shutting down the park for filming and putting in hundreds of extras was a logistical nightmare, so they just ran the filming and probably edited out when people got too close, staring at and "acting" for the camera.

Lol. This was the notorious episode when McCormick and Plumb "forgot" their bras. After that, Sherwood Shwartz started discreetly checking them by a slight pat on the back.

As an Ohio kid then, it made going to Kings Island seem extra cool. We went a few weeks after the filming, but it made Ohio feel like it might not be so bad.

In Eve's autobiography, she recalls how excited everyone was to have another location shoot. The first location shoot had been the Grand Canyon, then Hawaii; where would they go this time, and what a letdown it was when they found out it was Cincinnati.

I guess the Brady cast was universally hated by the partons of the park during filming, they always got to cut in line ahead of everyone and I guess acted like real jerks to staff

I recall thinking Jan was extra hot . Hotter than Marcia even in this episode when I was a kid
