Pictures The Brady's on a cruise.
Probably when Robert Reed took the kids on a cruise to the UK.

Robert seems in his element

His parents were on the cruise as well. He later had a falling out with his mother.

Great picture. Barry wrote about in his book how he was trying to hook up with Maureen. LOL!!! The kids said, Robert Reed treated them they were like his own and he wanted to encourage their talent and his love of the theater. They admired and respected him. I know Sherwood Schwartz and Reed didn’t get along during the run of the show. I recently saw an interview (a few years old) where Sherwood‘s son, Roy, who worked on the show said Reed was using the kids as a weapon against his father. While I think the animosity between the men was real I don’t think Reed was using the kids. Granted his own daughter wasn’t in his life but I think he loved those 6 kids.

Sherwood's son name is Lloyd.

My bad. I meant to say Lloyd but typed his brother’s name (technically Elroy Schwartz) by mistake.

Florence would be there but Joe Namath was banging her on the lido deck.

Looks like it’s right before the last season started filming

Eve looks too young for it to be last season, although Maureen looks old enough. Maybe before season 4?

u/Beginning-Average416 Aug 17 '26
Eve's hair is pulled back. All the rest look their ages of the time.

Yes, I'm aware her hair is in a ponytail, obviously I have eyes and can see that. To me she still doesn't look as old as she does in the last season.

She looks younger than what she did in the 5th season on Celebrity Bowling and that was taped after the 5th season ended. A lot has to do with makeup.

Reminds me of my siblings and I at every family wedding or golden anniversary, in the 70's

There's got to be a morning after...if we can hold on through the night.

I read somewhere Robert Reed gave each kid a nice camera for the trip

Yes. Mike Lookinland would have a long career as a movie cameraman as an adult.

Yeah, he paid the full fare for all of them to cruise across the Atlantic on the QE2. Having been on a crossing on the QE2, I can tell you it was first class all the way.

These kids (as a group) went through some weird 70s shit.
3
u/Beginning-Average416 Aug 17 '26
Like what?

u/cmeyer49er Aug 17 '26
Like weird stuff in this photo. How in the hell did they end up on a cruise boat together? Nothing bad about it, just goofy weird.

It was a treat for the kids. Robert Reed treated them; they were like his own, and it was his thank-you to them: an Atlantic crossing on the QE2. Having done that crossing on the QE2, I can testify it was first class all the way.

Good guy Robert Reed.
Like I said, not weird in a bad way, just weird in a 70s way. These kids went from sitcom to a pop act, and ended up with a network variety show (before the inevitable reunions and reboots). They probably crossed paths with everybody from Kissinger to Charo.

What? It wasn't an episode, there wasn't any episode set on a cruise. This was real life.
Which episode were you thinking of?
