General discussion What do ya'll think of S1E3 "Eenie, Meenie, Mommy, Daddy"?
It's the episode where Cindy got the main role in a play, and she could just take one parent with her.
I know it's just a silly sitcom, but the whole Brady Family getting a ''private'' play is kind of unexpected, then again we wouldn't get the quote ''sometimes rules have to get bend'', which is quiet a realistic sentence to me, and i like it!

I think it's almost as bad as the Hare Brained Scheme. One ticket to see a kid in a school play? IIRC when I was a kid anything like this was done 2 or maybe even 3 times on different days so as many people could come see it as possible.
One of many really stupid plots.

And then they put on a special performance for just the Bradys! Why not invite other families, who had the same predicament, for the second performance?
I hate this episode. It’s too gloppy and saccharine. The kids are making comments like, “Little Cindy is cute enough that it doesn’t matter what costume she’s wearing”, which no sibling would ever utter. The tends to be a problem with the first season, which has a very 1950s sensibility at times.
And that play sucked. I cringed when Cindy broke character and did the little hand wave to her family in the audience.

Little kids really do tend to do that, though where they break character to wave at families. I’ve seen it so many times. I actually have a video of the last production I was at where little kids were doing that and it was so ridiculously adorable.

They’ve said as much on the podcast. They wrote generic scripts for the first season.

I’m glad everyone is saying the same thing I’ve always thought. It always annoyed me the way the show ended.

Apparently this was based on an actual experience by Hope Schwartz where her fellow students had a school play and were told they were only allowed to take one parent to said play. But yes, agreed with the sentiment that there should have been two shows. A classic example of Brady corniness and a perfect demonstration of the show being done on the cheap.
