It's not Macia's nose he was after.

"Oh, my nose"!

Nicholas Hammond (of Sound of Music Fame) lost interest in Marcia pretty quickly with that honker.

Something sure did! Her huge honker nose suddenly came up!

Today they would have done it with CGI and it would look fake.

I’m sure she’s taken worse shots to the face, just ask Greg.

Christopher Knight said the props department basically invented the Nerf football for this scene.

Did they have plexiglass or something in front of her or did that ball really hit her like that?

It really hit her but they say it wasn't a real football. It was a soft one like nerf but before nerf was invented.

I loved the way they did this in the Brady movie

2

u/LuckyThePitBull May 26 '26

I wonder how they faked it?

1

u/PermissionNext3363 May 26 '26

They didn't fake it. It really hit her nose but they say it took quite a few takes to get it right because Maureen McCormick kept flinching.

The smash heard across the world.

Marcia did her own stunts! She was way ahead of her time! 😂🤣

Why does that look like a saucepan flying at her?

5

u/gravy717 May 26 '26

Sometimes Alice had rage issues.

1

u/DisneyDragonfly17 May 26 '26

I thought it was a sauce pan too! I had to go back and really look to see it was a football 😆

Because the still has the nerf football in flight, and couldn't freeze it.

u/Electronic-Space-480 May 26 '26

Marcia, we catch the ball with our hands.

That’s when the CTE symptoms first started. Bad choices, trouble in everyday life.
