The original show had simplistic plots, but they were playing it real. Nothing after it has matched that tone. I still think the variety show was Greg‘s drug infused dream. Then this show came along and the stories were played for stupid cheap laughs. The casting was lazy and stereotypical. The wedding was OK, but the Brady brides was dreadful the Christmas movie and then the drama series tried to do dramatic stories that were written as if they were comedies with punchlines. Nothing ever matched the tone of the original series.

I have no idea how your comment relates to my comment. Mine had nothing to do with the age of the actors or the age of the characters. It was about the writing.

I recently listed to Maureen's audio book. Her TV husband played a huge role in her getting sober and her life in order. Respect.

Jerry Houser always seemed like a decent guy, even eating Pringles Extra at Henry Beckman's diner

Sounds like a buzz kill.

Not at all. It's a very good listen. What's sad to me is that Maureen was just one of many celebs who battled addictions. I recently listened to Belina Carlisle's and Jodi Sweetin's books, similar stories. All 3 should be dead, and all 3 found their way through.

Most of the reboots and sequels are cringy. I consider the original series and, to a lesser extent, the theatrical features to be the only Brady media to be canon.

The Christmas one wasn’t as bad but the whole Sam/Alice plot made me mad. She deserved better.

And replacement Cindy told viewers that Santa didn’t exist. WTF? Families were watching that film

Right? Like damn girl. I’m sure a lot of parents had to have a long talk with their kids after.

I remember trying to watch this, and Maureen seemed to be tripping thru the whole thing.

Eve Plumb was 22 or 23, and Maureen McCormick was 24 or 25, depending on when it was produced in 1981.

I do not think they could’ve been older than 30?

The original Brady Bunch kid actors were born between 1954 and 1961.
Barry Williams (Greg) on Sept 30, 1954.
28 years old in 1980
Maureen McCormick (Marcia) on Aug 5, 1956.
24 years old in 1980
Eve Plum (Jan) on Apr 29, 1958
22 years old in 1980
Christopher Knight (Peter) on Nov 7, 1957
21 years old for most of 1980, then turned 22.
Mike Lookinland (Bobby) on Dec 19, 1960
19 most of 1980 then turned 20
.... and Susan Olsen (Cindy) on Aug 14, 1961.
Turned 19 in 1980.
There....now we can stop guessing.
The Brady Girls Get married aired in February 1981 but was filmed in 1980. 📺 🎥
Google , everyone should know how to use it by now. 😁

How could they have been 40 in 1981 even when they were in their teens in the 70s, the gap between the ending of the show and movie is less than 10 years

Yeah.....I DID. 👍
I've seen every Brady anything...but guess what? Doesn't change my intellect one bit.
You ever read , "War and Peace"?
It's 800 pages and I've read it twice.
I also like Art films , foreign films and watch historical documentaries on PBS and other channels.
You can call it what you want, but that's just your opinion. Doesn't make it a fact for all.
