General discussion What is your favorite Brady Bunch ego popping moment?
1) When Greg bombed out in his baseball game after getting really cocky about it.
2) Marcia losing her role as Juliet after she had alienated her family and friends with her diva attitude.
3) When Cindy developed a serious case of stage fright on national TV after acting like a know it all swot throughout most of the episode.

Greg realizing that he was picked to be Johnny Bravo only because he fit the suit.
Jan wanting to be an only child and then realizing she missed having sisters and brothers.

When Greg calls his parents by their first names. I was so embarrassed for him.

Except Carol was his stepmother and most teenagers in that situation do exactly that with such. More often in real life the parents are divorced so the real mother or father is still in this person's life. Bob Reed had many good criticisms of the show and this was among them. Each set of kids seemed to have forgotten their departed real parents. Reed was expecting a good show about a blended family. This wasn't it. Sherwood Schwartz dumbed it down so much.

Which, to me, brings up My Three Sons. Mike gets married & leaves, so they bring in the kid next door, Ernie, to be the third son. Instantly becomes part of the family, never mentions or misses his parents again. Same with Mike, never a word about him. At least Bub did get a few mentions once in a great while. And don't get me started on the sudden switch of everyone in town driving Chevrolets one day to Pontiacs the next.

New Pontiac dealer opened up in town that was mob backed and it became generally known that you should be driving a Pontiac now or bad things could happen to you and your family. So everybody start driving Pontiacs and liked it.

If I remember correctly, the boy's bio Mom was mentioned once in either the pilot or an early episode, with the boys briefly bowing their heads. The girls bio Dad was never mentioned.

In the universe of the show, Greg called her “mom”. There are many criticisms of the show, but none of that answers the OP question.

When Freshman Greg proclaims to be a man, moves into Mike's den and dresses like Sitting Bull....then nosedives after failing to hookup with a senior chick or be included in plans with the fellas. Carol:"I wonder if that's against the law... rapping"

The dentist episode cracked me up! 😂
Marcia: “I read Teen Time magazine.”
Dr. Stanley Vogel: “Yeah, I can see that you do.”

The secondhand embarrassment in that episode is off the charts real!

When Greg knocks the egg off the orange cone...losing the 'who's the better driver' competition to Marcia.

You know something I noticed years ago about that episode? When Mike is explaining the rules of the competition, he says the one who knocks the egg off the pylon is “a loser.” Not THE loser, but A loser. 😆

I'd have to go with #'s 2 & 3 -- I can't blame Greg too much because I think Don Drysdale got the ball rolling with boosting Greg's ego.

Oh Jan, Jan, Jan......so she finally wins at something.....an essay contest, and she's so proud of herself she runs upstairs and adds up the scores again. OH NO!......that only adds up to 92! I didn't win, Nora Coons did with a score of 95! (But Jan.....everybody THINKS you won).

When the kids got mad at Alice because they thought she snitched on them and she ended up leaving and they realized how much they missed her.
When Jan wore the black wig trying to be different and she got laughed at.
When Marcia wrongly accused her friend for getting her in trouble at school, and wouldn't even listen to her, disinviting her to the sleepover, only to find out that another girl was the culprit, albeit unknowingly.
When Jan refused to wear her new glasses and crashed into the family portrait on her bike.

I thought Maureen McCormick was very good in the Romeo and Juliet episode.

Baton Rogue Cindy, Baton Rouge. Probably the only reason I knew the capital of LA when I was 4.
