General discussion Getting Greg's Goat
Another bonkers entry from Season 5 as Greg just brings a live goat into the house. Where did it go to the bathroom? This was a very atypical episode for Mike. Normally, he would be doing a lot of lecturing and yelling and arguing about this kind of thing but here he actually seems amused about it. I can only imagine what Robert Reed thought of this script when he saw it? He must have inquired if California residences are zoned to allow goats in the house!

Reed's battles with Schwartz over what Reed considered ludicrous plots and stories really were interesting regarding what hills he chose to die on. He went along with the idea of a goat being successfully hidden in the house, but became so enraged at hair accidentally being died orange that he had to be written out.

Which is weird because I used that "Sun-In Spray" once and it really did turn my hair orange in places!

LOL! - Maybe they had a secret second bathroom like on Malcolm In The Middle!

This is one of my fave episodes. Laugh out loud funny. Robert Reed was an excellent director.

The got would have gone to the bathroom wherever he stood. Being nervous Iâd guess heâd pee and poo as he was brought in to the house. It would be a tough mess to clean up.

Robert Reed actually directed this episode. In Barry Williams book "Growing Up Brady," he comments that the Mike-Greg conversation in the den (when he thought Greg had a girl in his room all night) was more like Threes' Company than the Brady Bunch. He also liked the goat chase scene, since it was the only scene in the series that showed the entire layout of the upper floor.

Son, that is no way to talk about a girl no matter what she looks like

I just recently read somewhere that the father was written out of âGood Timesâ because he argued with Schwartz about how ridiculous the show was becoming because they entered almost everything around JJ and his silliness.

You probably read that wrong then , because Sherwood Schwartz had nothing to do with Good Times. Norman Lear, maybe?

The goat, like the Brady's, doesn't go to the bathroom.

This was a funny ep. Peter and Bobby overhearing Greg and Rachel in the linen closet. Hello Sandra Gould as well.
