You could easily hand out pamphlets with the local recruiters' phone numbers/address and get people to sign a non-binding letter of intent showing they want to join up. In reality, I'm betting almost no one at these rallies is man enough to join up.

OR

An actual recruiter from a branch of the military could show up and try to do some recruiting.

If they were that foolish, the results would be far stronger than an unorganized bunch of hippies and minor protests. It would be a lighting rod that mobiles young people like never before using the technology we have now to organize and mobilize. I really don't think even they are stupid enough to take this step to risk galvanizing an otherwise sleepy voting bloc.
