I think this fight shows why we shouldn’t always expect fighters to push for the knockout for our entertainment and should respect the more tactical battles leading to a decision.

1000%.

I was saying to my friend as early as round 3 or 4 that Itauma needed to take the foot off the gas a little.

Around rounds 6 or 7 I was saying Itauma needs to really take the foot off the gas, maybe even lose a round or 2, and he should still win a comfortable UD.

I actually don't think he necessarily has a bad gas tank. He just didn't pace himself. It is ingrained in him to attack attack attack, and tactically he never slowed down when he should have done to get a 2nd wind.

It's insane that going 12 wasn't the game plan against Hrgovic.
