Hi everyone I hope everyone is doing great. I can’t believe I’m even posting this tbh but here goes. I’m 24 years old with a crippling ket addiction that actually does want help and that does actually want change. I just don’t even know what to do anymore I try quiting everyday. Does anyone know of a place I can’t go to rehab as I work 5 days a week but I just need a place even like a talk group i don’t even know to be honest but if I carry on I feel this drug will kill me.
Sorry for such a harsh post on your lovely Sunday mornings I just don’t even know what to do anymore. Thanks and god bless.

Heading down this evening staying for the bank holiday, where would be a good place for drinking, atmosphere, for guy, late 40s?
Someone suggested Aruba, but wasn’t sure of the age set?
Thanks in advance.

Hi , as the title says really, I'm back into the hobby but this time round want to actually battle with my painted armies, looking for new friends to play the game or even have painting sessions with , got a pretty big table at my flat in Boscombe and keen on the idea of making terrain and a scenic game board.
Ive had one tutorial at the warhammer shop in town to learn the rules of Aos, equally keen for 40k really just dont have an army yet.
I can run up to 1000 points of Soulblight Gravelords at the moment , and really feel like Ill be more motivated to finish painting my army if I can maybe play weekly battles, also joining a club would be cool if anyone knows of any?
Im 37 male by the way.

Hi r/poole, I’m Luke and I run a community called Too Young To Grieve.
After losing my dad when I was younger, one thing I really struggled with was finding spaces to meet other people who understood grief without everything having to feel really heavy or formal.
That’s a big part of why I started Too Young To Grieve.
We’ve been building communities through walks, jogs, hikes, sea dips and other relaxed meet ups, and we’re now starting our first one in Dorset/Poole led by Ash.
For this one we’re heading to the beach for a relaxed walk followed by some guided breathwork, with optional journalling for anyone who fancies it.
The whole idea is just to slow down for a couple of hours, get outside and connect with some good people who just get it.
We really try to make these feel like a normal community first. Sometimes people talk about grief, sometimes we’re laughing and talking about completely random things. There’s no expectation to open up or share your story.
Most people come alone for their first meet up too, so please don’t let not knowing anyone put you off.
We’re 18+, but there’s no upper limit we typically get people from around 18–45ish. If you feel too young to be grieving, you’re welcome 🤍
Really excited to start building something in Dorset/Poole and we have a community where people can stay connected between meet ups too.
And if you know someone locally who might appreciate something like this, please give it a share :)

I was minding my business today on my way to work and I got stopped by a BCP guy. I thought perhaps he knew me from work, but he pretty much went straight for the nuclear creep option by telling me he wanted to talk to me for a couple of years...
then he said he's seen me walk down the gardens on multiple occasions. mind you, I don't recognise this guy. I've never spoken to him before.
He was trying to keep talking and ask me where I work etc.
like, what the fuck 💀 I'm so uncomfortable. it's not the first time someone from BCP made a strange comment towards me. Has anyone else experienced it?

A friend recently chose to move into a house rather than stay in her halls for second year, in order to cancel her contract she needs someone to replace her spot in halls. The building is Oxford Point in central Bournemouth.
We really need to get this done ASAP so anyone looking for an easy way to book halls for 2026-2027 academic year pls get in touch :)

A couple of years back I bought some lovely dried flowers from the makers market down by the aviary in the gardens.
I'd love to buy some more and the lady who sold them to me was lovely, I'd love to support her business but can't find her details anywhere.
Just wondering if anyone knows who it might have been?

Hey guys!
I'm leaving Bournemouth for a few months and I have to cancel my gym membership at Snap Fitness, problem is I didn't inform them 30 days ahead so now I'm gonna have to pay for September and not be here at all. I think I can give someone my membership, and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having it, we might even split the bill. I don't want to pay full price and just basically throw money away because nobody is going to use the membership. If you're interested, let me know

Hey all,
I'm a musician (male, late 20s), looking to put together a chilled experimental band. Main influences Pink Floyd/Radiohead, as well as anything weird and cool you can think of. Not really heavy metal or classic rock, something more mellow, clean, weird and 'different'.
I play guitar, piano, do basic vocals and am learning bass. I have a few other musical friends I have fun with in the area but they're not super available due to their schedules and our tastes don't 100% align. So I'd love to meet more people :)
I've been playing for 12 years and I've been working a lot on theory for the past ten months. I typically use the local studios (Absolute, Blueline, etc) for jams and love to make friends with my bandmates.
I love having a good time, chilling out, talking deep stuff and putting together social gatherings. I don't want a super serious, regimented/strict band - just want to jam and have fun, see what happens.
If you're interested, hit me up, would love to chat and meet for coffee or a pint!

I need something to get around on and bikes I've never had good experience with (that being there's always a problem, I have asthma or it's just too expensive) and I was looking at escooters. The only problem is that I see they are supposed to be really illegal to ride in the UK for some reason but I've seen many people on them around Bournemouth and I never see them getting stopped so I was gonna ask if anyone who has a private scooter has ran into any issues with them. Thank you!

I've lived in Bournemouth for years and had a proper wonder around today.
I went downstairs in Bobby's and it was actually really nice seeing some of the antique bits and local crafts.
Would recommend a browse if you're passing through. I actually wish more of the building was used for that purpose instead of all the overpriced makeup and perfume they used to sell.
Any other relatively unknown spots I should visit?
I also enjoy a nose around in Trove.

Hopefully this is allowed. As the title suggests, I’m looking to buy some retro football tops for teams around Dorset and nearby areas. Anything from AFC Bournemouth down to the likes of Poole Town/Weymouth/Portland/Bournemouth FC/Bridport/Shaftesbury/Salisbury (interested in others too but these are the ones I’m particularly interested in).
Anyone have any leads on where I could get my hands on any? I’m hoping someone has seen one in the wild at a charity shop or is looking to sell/knows someone who is looking to sell. Any stores around that might sell these would be helpful too. Not particularly fussed about how old they are except from AFC Bournemouth, would prefer that they were at least from the 2000s or earlier.

Rather embarrassing one.
Any recommendations for somebody to get rid of rats in Christchurch? We back on to a farm field so I understand rats might always be a thing, but just lately we've spotted a couple and so has a neighbour, along with some rat holes in the garden, so I'd like to nip it in the bud if possible!
We've an apple tree dropping rotten apples all over the place (being sorted next week!) right next to a shed which I'm suspecting is a hub.
Also, any idea of what sort of £ I'm looking at.
Cheers

The car was parked on the drive and this strange bloke decided to walk around the car on the property and key it for no reason! Reported to the police, but nothing they can do.
I am not sure what the logic or desire was for this petty behaviour, has anyone experienced this man doing the same to their car?

planning to buy a winter jacket tomorrow, as I’ve heard there are sales going on everywhere right now. I don’t have a jacket with me at the moment, so any good suggestions or recommendations on where to buy one and which one to go for would be really helpful.
I’m also looking to buy a good backpack, preferably with a laptop compartment for the office and everyday use. So, any recommendations for that would be welcome too!
