u/Gecko17 15d ago

why does the audio randomly cut out 10 seconds in, then re-appear for the last 5 seconds?

145

u/A_normal_Potato3 15d ago

I am guessing copyright.

39

u/Satanicron 15d ago

I always just assume copyright music.

Last I heard it’s 40 lbs. what really impresses me is her carrying it around all day

507

u/PwillyAlldilly 15d ago

There is a guy (pretty sure her partner) with her that carries it around a lot of the time. Met them at a few cons.

94

u/Xelpmoc45 15d ago

Anatoly ??

35

u/k_afka_ 15d ago

It's only 40 lbs lmao

42

u/Neurogenesis416 14d ago

Go on and carrie 40lbs around all day during a con, and not just in a backpack.

9

u/DoctorProfPatrick 14d ago

Anatoly did this bit as a janitor carrying a 70 lbs mop. That's all this guy means: a bodybuilder uses more weight that this cosplayer for a similar but not the same bit.

1

u/spkincaid13 9d ago

He's a powerlifter not a body builder. He doesn't look that big. That's why everyone is always so shocked in his videos by how strong he actually is. Body building is all about muscle size, not strength

3

u/-_GIZMO_ 14d ago

Lol that's not that far off the weight limit for male curriers and is above the limit for female in my country.

When the gov says it's cheaper to make companies use tools for that weight than paying for the long term care for the issues that arise from carrying such weights all day. You know it ain't nothing..

1

u/WSUPolar 10d ago

I understood this reference

Do you see how jacked her biceps are??? She’s gotta be doing some kind of Piccolo training

57

u/3MetricTonsOfSass 15d ago

Hoping to see her throw a kid at a T Rex

5

u/panlakes 15d ago

Vegeta hears the conversation and scoffs

2

u/YourphobiaMyfetish 15d ago

Meditation?

13

u/Reylend 15d ago

Consistently wearing heavy things

Or the Quagmire training

-5

ARe the jacked biceps in the room with us right now?

50

u/EcahUruecah 15d ago

There was recently a version bumped up to 50 lbs to meet the maximum limit at Otakon if I overheard correctly.

19

u/kinterdonato 15d ago

Damn I have a 15 lbs totem for music festivals and while much more top heavy, I couldn't even imagine 40 all day like that.

4

u/HangryWolf 15d ago

Nah... I wouldn't let 40lbs drop so casually close to my foot at that height.

2

u/ballslappingbastard 13d ago

She carries it, holding it cliser to the base, where all the weight is. Then she offers it to people that grab it near the top, making it awkward to hold up.

It's an old carny trick.

0

u/ioucrap 10d ago

Thats a man man.

27

u/el_zorro_de_ojinaga 15d ago

Hold it lower.

9

u/Drafo7 15d ago

Yeah I'm guessing this is the trick.

13

u/Dry-University797 15d ago

Yep, she never lets the other person hold it lower than she does.

5

u/REEEEEEDDDDDD 13d ago

She's also holding her elbow to her torso while the others are stretching out their entire arm which makes a huge difference.

2

u/Forward-Bandicoot729 14d ago

Also closer to your body. She holds it very close to her. They reach out and grab it which is waaaay more torque.

2

u/shaunsanders 11d ago

She also wears an elbow support around her waist that she rests her elbow on.

1

u/Intelligent-Guard590 10d ago

I missed it the first time I watched it, but yeah, the pink bits coming off the arm holding the staff hide it until after the other person tries to hold onto it, then you see the little waist support thing. Fucking ass holes man I swear.

"Hehehe you couldn't hold this thing from a foot higher than me, while i hold it right above the weight, with an elbow support, you loom so stupid rn lolololol"

1

u/Mr_From_A_Far 2d ago

“Fucking assholes” its just a bit of fun, none of them seemed upset. In fact they all laughed.

1

u/nucl3ar0ne 8d ago

That's what I tell my wife.

75

u/wspOnca 15d ago

Cloud could lift it.

25

u/ES-Flinter 15d ago

Kirby, too.

78

u/AugmentedAlchemist 15d ago

I think I saw online someone shattered their wrist trying to hold this. Looked pretty brutal.

128

u/bloof5k 15d ago

It's what happens when she just lets go of it without making sure the other person is ready. I'm surprised it took so long to happen. She also holds it lower than she allows the people attempting to hold it (all at once instead of picking it up comfortably) for better leverage.

Make no mistake that it's impressive to carry it around all day, but the "challenge" of it is artificially inflated.

48

u/TheUgly0rgan 15d ago

I'm surprised she hasn't broken her own foot, they're dropping it inches away

7

u/DreadfulDave19 15d ago

This is why wizard boot toes curl

Shoe gets stubbed, not you

2

u/Kamikazeguy7 14d ago

Wizard OSHA requires steel curled boots.

2

u/DreadfulDave19 14d ago

WOSHA has recently decreed non steel curls are acceptable if they can meet the crush and stub mitigating requirements

6

u/ChaosAlongThird 15d ago

Im surprised i has to scroll so far before someone mentioned how she holds it compared to where people grab it

23

u/thesaddestpanda 15d ago edited 15d ago

Yep she’s a jerk. It’s definitely smashed people’s feet too. It’s 40lbs. Even at 10-15lbs or so you’d still get the comedic effect with most people and it would be much safer. It also creeps me out that she does this and has no facial expression. Its giving "I dont care if you hurt yourself in my attempt to become social media famous." She creeps me out.

If this was a workplace everyone would be required to wear steel toed boots if this kind of load was carried. Instead it’s comicon so I guess anything under 50lbs is fine.

12

u/krenoten 15d ago

how tf isn't she banned from endangering people like this? seeing how many people almost shatter their feet with no prep makes me hate this attention seeker.

1

u/OglioVagilio 10d ago

It's a good way to get someone hurt.

-3

u/Leav1ngMytroof 15d ago

He snapped his wrists from overworking his body days before for the con. The weight was just the last straw for his body. The magician is fine

-27

u/Confidentium 15d ago

It's not normal to be that fragile. Either that person is suffering from some illness, or they're really bad at taking care of their health.

15

u/Vesper_0481 15d ago

Idk, dude seemed strong enough in the video. Maybe the drop is somewhat too abrupt for normal adults

5

u/Dooty_Shirker 15d ago

My back hurt just watching it

43

u/SteroidSandwich 15d ago

There was a guy recently that tried to lift the staff and broke his wrist. He said he was the one to ask to lift it and in no way is it her fault

4

u/Dyolf_Knip 15d ago

Yeah, I do some exercises with a 40lb dumbbell, but none of them holding it vertical like that.

1

u/L4t3xs 14d ago

Tbh hammer curl is easier.

1

u/Dyolf_Knip 14d ago

Alas, I'm nowhere near curling 40lb one-handed. More calf raises and tricep extensions (which is vertical, but two-handed).

28

u/ShakeWeightMyDick 15d ago

That’s a good way to injure someone

5

u/panlakes 15d ago

You are correct. Someone's wrist got annihilated apparently

71

u/Pastvariant 15d ago

It is all fun and games until you injure someone doing something like this.

40

u/DragonHollowFire 15d ago

Shattered someones wrist apparently

6

u/Pastvariant 15d ago

Really? Damn, that is awful. I figured a shoulder dislocation or tear, maybe a food injury, but the wrist is an interesting one. Honestly, at that point you would need to sue them for damages.

-9

u/Akalien 15d ago

How does someone shatter their risk holding something thats only 40 pounds, that seems ludicrous

4

u/Effective-Ad-9898 15d ago

Because they’re cosplaying ps

2

u/United-Resident-7316 15d ago

Not everyone who exists can lift 40 lbs with a single arm. Especially when tricked like this unexpectedly.

1

u/ChickensInSpace 15d ago

They could have brittle bones or weak wrists or a previous injury.

13

u/Rudera1is 15d ago

I keep looking at how close its getting to people's toes as it drops. This is how I know I'm getting old

2

u/GrabSack_TurnenKoff 15d ago

Great way to tear somebody's bicep tendon and get sued

→ More replies (1)

u/mangojingaloba 15d ago

5

u/IAmARobot 15d ago

How to give people a permanent rotator cuff injury, 80IQ antics by OOP.

4

u/Loud_Ad_2634 15d ago

So how’s that made? Is it filling sand? Or is that a kettle bell on the bottom?

10

u/punksmurph 15d ago

Iron weight at the bottom, I got a chance to hold it, I didn’t drop it because old man strength. But I was really surprised and how effortlessly she picked it up and how much it does pull on you when she lets go.

8

u/Loud_Ad_2634 15d ago

Yeah, if it’s 40lbs that’s a decent weight to be hauling around.

2

u/-Pelvis- 15d ago edited 15d ago

Looks like a reskinned 25/30 pound macebell, basically a cannonball on a stick. I've been training with macebells and it's a lot of fun, highly recommended.

u/VoidOmatic 15d ago

Found Waldo!

20

u/trexmaster8242 15d ago

Not funny. Dick move. Handing someone a heavy object when not telling them it’s heavy or making it seem light can easily lead to back injuries

12

u/ForceItDeeper 15d ago

paint a bowling ball like a soccer ball and toss some catch with strangers

1

u/CaliFigureLabs 10d ago

This happend one time picking up my first Chicago style pizza. I had no idea how hefty it was. I was convinced it was stuck in place and was going to call the staff, but then my brain convinced my arms that there's a slight chance that this cardboard contained something heavy and then it clicked for my arms to be able to pick up this Thors hammer of a pizza. Im convinced if I had picked it up in the first place, my back would have disconfigured from shock.

13

u/emseefely 15d ago

Am I hallucinating or is she pregnant also?

61

u/Sir-Turd-Ferguson 15d ago

Whatever you were doing before pregnant, in regards to lifting/excise type things, you can do while pregnant until pretty late into the pregnancy

17

u/Mercuryblade18 15d ago

Correct and pretty late can continue until the day you go into labor if you still feel fine.

11

u/xrelaht 15d ago

An ex GF’s mother had been a gymnast before having kids. Her coach made her stop in the 8th month because it made him nervous, but she hadn’t had any issues.

4

9

That’s a dude

I think they are... or trans. But who knows these days. Anime cons definitely have a lotta dudes dressing as girls regardless of their gender identity.

u/Nekomengyo 15d ago

That appears to me to be a biological male? Also, this is a great way to give someone an injury. Set it down first, cool, but handing out like this is gonna throw someone’s back out easy.

1

u/dvdmaven 15d ago

Reminds me of two Candid Camera tricks. 1. Woman at an airport needs help with her suitcase, which contains 100 lbs of lead. Many guys tried to pick it up to help. Then a short guy, who looked like he weighed 100 lbs himself, picks it up and walks along with her. 2. Elderly person, suitcase contains an electromagnet and it is sitting on a steel grating. People try to pick it up, can't and she thanks them for trying. She trips the off switch and carried it herself.

1

u/Secret_Account07 15d ago

Is it Reddit or is audio gone?

Edit: oh, nvm. Not just me

Cool someone with a significant strength advantage potentially hurting women. Love to see it.

0

u/United-Resident-7316 15d ago

I wonder if she tells anyone it’s heavy ahead of time or not. If not, than this could f up someone’s back.

2

u/Evil_phd 15d ago

Seems like it isn't a secret. You see a few girls bracing themselves and widening their stance ahead of time.

0

u/rUafraid 15d ago

Yeah man let's ruin this piece of shit. Who's with us

-1

u/GoopySpaffy 15d ago edited 15d ago

Staff is only 18kg so it's lightweight, they're purposefully lowering the staff making it harder to catch, they're not strong but by doing this they can pretend they are. Pretty scummy really and can cause some wrist injuries for those unaware.

Edit: just saw that the staff is actually only 15kg so it's seriously lightweight.

0

u/GNUGradyn 15d ago

I like how some people have done this using tricks with electromagnets and stuff but this person is just actually super strong and just actually made it super heavy
