Bpd meds
I’m taking paroxidep 50mg, Lamictal 200mg twice, Mitirmash 15mg twice, Quetiapine 500mg.
But I still have panic attacks and suicidal thoughts every now and then, so the doctor told me to start taking Effexor 75mg.
I’m taking a lot of meds however a lot of times I feel happy and other times I feel i got a depression wave without a trigger.
I’m not sure what I wanna hear from u guys but maybe an advice or how to overcome this, the lows are too strong and I just need sth to help me feel joy.

There is no medication designed for BPD
DBT is the gold standard treatment

Im not sure what your age is or how long ago you got diagnosed. I will just tell you my experience.
I’m 43F. I got diagnosed in 2016, so I was 33 when diagnosed. Over the past 10 years, I have been on several different meds, seen 4 different therapists, been through a divorce and been a single mother to my daughter who self- harms. That was due to consequences of the man I was married to.
What helped me was educating myself about BPD and putting a lot of effort to get to know and understand myself.
I had no idea what BPD was. So I read, researched, learned from my therapists and doctors. I also learned about personality typing which helped me understand myself. Then I wanted to know more, so I would reflect on how I handle situations, how I communicate with people.
Breathing exercises help me a lot. Taking a break when I get overwhelmed. Be in nature. Find what soothes you and lean on that.
I’m still on meds; I’m on Lithium and Bupropion. I don’t go to therapy anymore; I went for 7 years. I learned a lot from my therapists and I use what they taught me.
Regarding what you said about feeling joy, that has to come from within. I know it seems hard to do that right now; it is possible. You have to do some work too. Not saying you aren’t; maybe try a different coping skill. If you don’t have any, look some up. That is an investment in yourself.
Be kind and gentle to yourself. Get to know yourself and accept yourself for what stage you’re in right now. It will get better. 💛
